**A Memorable Stay at Meiyuan Luxury Hotel, Hohhot**
My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Meiyuan Luxury Hotel in Hohhot, and we couldn’t have been more delighted with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegance and warmth of the hotel. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and impeccable service, ensuring a smooth check-in process.
The room we stayed in was nothing short of luxurious. Spacious, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated, it provided a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the high-quality linens made for a restful night’s sleep. We were particularly impressed by the attention to detail in the room’s amenities, which included everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay, from a fully stocked minibar to a well-appointed bathroom with premium toiletries.
The hotel’s dining options were equally impressive. We dined at the hotel’s main restaurant, which offered a delectable selection of both local and international cuisine. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, all freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The restaurant staff were attentive and eager to accommodate our dietary preferences, making our dining experience truly enjoyable.
Beyond the excellent facilities, what really stood out to us was the level of service provided by the hotel staff. They were always ready to assist with any request, providing helpful recommendations for local attractions and ensuring that our stay was as comfortable as possible.
In conclusion, the Meiyuan Luxury Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We left with fond memories of our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hohhot. It truly offers a five-star experience in every sense.
YYamiWent for a business travel.
It's a nice stay for business purpose, the room was nice, the bed very comfortable and enough clean.
Quality-price very good. The atmosphere was very relaxing, with good wifi and enough common area spaces for work, if you don't want to stay the whole day in the room.
The breakfast was okay: they provided the must have of the continental breakfast: coffee and toast. probably the chinese foods was very good but I wasn't ready for a noodle or dumpling in the morning.
The staff has very good manners and always wanted to help. They provide as well for a complimentary afternoon tea til very late and it's very nice to drink a warm tea while working on the sofa of the common area.
I got the chance to visit as well the center and it's about 3km far from the old street. Easy to rent a bike or ebike.
GGavin TravisPROS: The best thing about this hotel is it's location. It's close to the metro and there are malls nearby which are all accessible by bike. The hotel is outdated but it's clean and comfortable. The room is sufficient for 2 people, the bed and pillows are soft, toiletries are also provided.
CONS: I was unlucky to be in a room next to noisy guests who were probably playing, i could here there laughter and feel the walls vibrate.
PS: I was not happy by how one of the females staff (w/ short hair) was being sarcastic. She was trying to speak to me in Chinese, but I couldn't understand at first. Her colleague repeated the sentence and because she spoke more slowly, I understood it better. The other female staff then made a remark, and they both laughed. I know it was about me not being able to understand. If you're not happy to deal with people, including foreigners, then you might consider finding another job. It's a hospitality business, it's your job to make customers feel valued, regardless where they're from.
TTollittWe had a few problems at the beginning of the stay. The swimming pool was closed which was disappointing. However, Jack the manager was very supportive and helped us to enjoy the rest of our stay. The overall state of the hotel i.e. bedroom was of a very good quality. However, we had to move to another bedroom due to the strong smell of cigarette smoke filtering in through the air conditioning unit which was very bad. Unfortunately, this happened again in the new hotel bedroom.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff were very accommodating. However, the hotel really need to be stricter on the cigarette smoking policy. I understand that many people smoke in China but this is the 'Sheraton' brand. If people are being allowed to smoke in the hotel restaurant (which we had to endure) and in the bedrooms which affects other guests, this is quite bad.
CCurt 常鹰This hotel can be very hit & miss. I have stayed here 3 times and had 3 different experiences.
First things first, though, it is worth pointing out that location is excellent, especially for its price, and staff are always very friendly, and often have a decent level of English, as well as Mandarin & Mongolian (almost every guest I ever see here speaks Mongolian).
My first stay here, I had no complaints. The room was clean, comfortable, & spacious. An excellent room at its price, if just slightly dated.
My next stay was totally different. I was told upon checking in that my room didn't have a shower but I could move the next day. Not ideal after a day of travelling but I was tired so accepted it and went to bed. The next evening, I returned to the hotel & was told I still couldn't move, & had to wait another day (the day I was checking out). I managed to convince staff to let me move eventually as I really needed a shower, & there was a room available - so why couldn't I just be there in the first place?
My third and final stay was also disappointing, though not as bad as the second. Upon checking in, there was a huge group who had checked in just before me - not ideal, but little you can do. But only one elevator was working, and would only hold around 3 or 4 people at a time. So it genuinely took almost half an hour to get to my room. Then, for some reason, the elevator call button on my floor didn't work. Fortunately I found a staff elevator that took me out the back exit and had to use this for the rest of my stay - but that somewhat reduced the convenience of the location.
All in all, while I appreciate the price and location here, I have started using other hotels when I visit Hohhot now.
