The staff at reception were so lovely and welcoming. The room was clean and as expected. Everything worked and there was a free hot drink machine downstairs. We had an emergency (bed bugs) and had to leave our original hotel and relocate here in the middle of the night. Our friends staying here told the receptionist and they sorted out a room for us at the next availability, and made sure it was clean and ready for us. Location is lovely too as bussum is soo nice, and not far at all from amsterdam.

Guests have easy access to hiking and biking trails, plus there are also a number of celebrity and royal residences in the area. Amsterdam, meanwhile, is only a 20-minute drive from the hotel. The rooms at NH Bussum Jan Tabak are designed with our guests’ comfort in mind and feature a comfortable contemporary decor. Each is equipped with free Wi-Fi which is also available throughout the entire hotel. The hotel serves a large spread for breakfast, including continental favorites and some local specialties. Choose from a selection of cold cuts, cheeses, yogurts, fruit, and fresh pastries and bread, while getting a boost of energy with a freshly brewed coffee. Brasserie Jan serves both international and local dishes from its rotating a-la-carte menu. The room we were given was one for people with a disability, which meant it was very spacious. The decor was nice, the beds comfortable, although a little soft. The bathroom was also spacious and had everything a disabled person would need. It didn't bother us we were staying in this room. We didn't have breakfast but had a coffee which was good. Because this room is on the ground floor just behind reception and next to the breakfast room we did experience noise. There is a 24-hour coffee and tea making facility in the breakfast room which is great. However, when we were staying, there were people in there even in the middle of the night, as we could hear the chairs being used (scraping sound which was very audible in our room). That got worse when breakfast service really started in the morning. It made sleeping a little challenging. We would stay here again, but would definitely ask for a room on a higher floor and further away from the breakfast room. Check in and out was quick and easy and staff were friendly.
