Carr Edge Farm

This was our 2nd visit to Carr Edge Farm while visiting family in the area, we again stayed in The Stable which being wheelchair friendly was perfect for my husband, large shower room with lovely toiletries & lots of hot water, our room was spotless, very comfortable large bed with qualitybedding, & the kitchen/ living room is very well equipped, as it's November in Northumberland the rooms were very warm. Sandra and Michael are wonderful hosts

The Stable, self catering, wheelchair friendly is very spacious, wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, so quiet at night, star spotting is exquisite in this part of Northumberland. Our room was spotless, very comfortable bed, high quality bedding and soft fluffy towels, large bathroom, lovely toiletries. In these covid times every precaution was thought of to keep us safe. Sandie and Michael are very welcoming, with wonderful knowledge of the area and suggestions for everyday visits. We would throughly recommend Carredge for your Northumberland stay and we will definitely return.

From the welcoming smile and an armful of fresh-picked rhubarb, to the box of home-made shortbread in the well-appointed kitchen/living room, with its cheerful, warming stove - we felt at home straight away. Only this home had three sheep standing in our little back garden - and there were sweeping views beyond - and at the other side were the edges of Hadrian's Wall. Comfortable bed in large, pretty room; big, attractive shower room with lovely toiletries and lots of fluffy, LARGE towels - such good value! Cannot thank Sandie enough - cannot thank them both enough!

WE STAYED A WEEK in the self-catering 'Stable', next to the farmhouse. A friendly welcome, with home-made shortbread, and milk in the fridge. Our little cottage was private - had its own back garden with patio. The kitchen-living room was exceedingly well-appointed, with a sofa and 'guest chair, as well as the three or four chairs round the not-poky table. Fresh flowers, an electric mock-wood-burning stove. Large, comfortable bed - though a bit hard for us - think it was new. Attractive bedlinen and ample storage in antique wardrobe and chest of drawers, etc. Large bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Lots of really hot water and large, soft, fluffy towels (so often there are not, so we REALLY appreciated these). Nice toiletries. Everything had been thought of for our comfort. Our only beef- the lighting was too low in the bedroom - especially the reading lamps. I had to peer. BUT - we appreciate that this is DEEP country. so maybe unavoidable. Sandie and MIchael very kind and attentive hosts. We'll probably return,,,
