My partner and I spent 8 nights in Maui, 3 of which were at the Hana Maui Resort and it was the favorite part of our trip. Let me preface by saying that if you're looking for luxury in the hard product sense, then this place may disappoint you. But if you're looking for luxury in the sense of location, service, and ambiance, then this might be the place for you. We stayed in an ocean view bungalow which was lovely. It's not modern or up to date by any means but it was still very large and spacious for 2. We were able to watch the sunrise every morning on our lanai and just listen to the waves crash onto the rocks. There are a few creatures and critters around the property which I thought was really cute. I saw a few cats, geckos, dragonflies, mongoose, and a variety of birds. There were also a few hibiscus plants around the pool which were a nice touch. The pool itself was very serene and beautiful. The attendants were also very kind and friendly. The property also offers meditation and yoga session in the morning near the pool as well. There are also tennis, basketball, and golf putting on site. The food and beverage was options were ok with the exception of breakfast. I thought the breakfast was delicious. We tried almost everything on the breakfast menu and our highlights were the french toast, steak and eggs, and the fruit platter. The pool bar served snacks like ham and cheese panini, poke bowl, poke nachos, etc. My partner loved the mai tais. It had the usual recipe but with a passion fruit foam on top which she raved about. Hana ranch was ok. The location is the biggest selling point of this property imo. Being able stay at this beautiful property in the country side felt so magical. You're so far remote from everywhere else and because there were very few guests when we stayed, it felt very private which added onto the mystique. I would highly highly suggest you stay here for a minimum of 2 nights if you're doing the road to Hana. Again, DO NOT book the garden rooms if you choose to do so. You'll have additional time to relax and complete the Road to Hana at your own pace.
