We stayed in this hotel in October 2025. This review is meant to help other non-chinese tourists who would like to visit Guilin and surroundings and considering booking this hotel.
The look imitates traditionnal but is a bit old and some things might need restauration. Some things in the room need to be fixed or replaced.
Breakfast is ok, and we partiularly liked the on-demand noodle bar. But the coffee is not good.
Our main dissatisfaction is regarding the activity that we wanted to book through the hotel, next to the reception.
We booked "a tour" with a guide that will bring us to the main entrance for boats departure on the river.
The guide doesnt speak english which was not clearly mentionned. We woke up at 6 to take the bus, picked up all the different tourists who had booked the same package in all of the different hotels of the town for an hour (imagine going circles for an hour just to realize you are still in the same 500m area). After that, the guide was speaking chinese for more than an hour... with speakers with maximum volume in the bus. It was SO loud we were forced to hold our ears for an hour. Trust me when I tell you it was so loud we could see people in their car with windows closed on the road being annoyed by how loud it was. Once we finally arrived and escape those two hours of hell (traffic+ears+we missed the breakfast for this) we were tossed in a random boat (there are maybe 10 of them departing of after the other) with noone from our bus, nor the guide. If the whole experience is to sell you a bus ride, we know how to use Didi, thanks.
I would like to add that this tour is pretty expensive: around 100 euros (which for the country and region is a lot of money). We lost 2hours, the breakfast we paid extra for, and our ears in the process. This experience very much lacks professionnalism and proper communication. If the documentation is written in english, you should be able to provide proper information in english too. If it's just for the ride, don't sell it to foreigners. We would prefere to save two hours, go by Didi and not have to pay this whole nonsense.
The location is very great I can go by sharing bike to the travel place. The staff a little unfriendly. The swim was closed but they didn't announcement it. The hotel was very old but it's ok for me if not moist
Not my favorite experience. The photos are probably rigged since the hotel doesn’t meet the standards. Just a little bit dirty and the location isn’t great too. Also it looks and feels like hotel that has passed its prime and it used to be good 20 years ago
Behind the hotel, there is a huge lake and walking trail viewing Guilin scenery. Even if it was hot to visit some travel spots, we can enjoy walking around the hotel and shoot some good photos.
The breakfast was not bad compared to a room rate. I cannot say all service and facilities are good to stay because it is too old. 😅 it reminds of an old-style Chinese hotel.
We had dinner at a hotel restaurant and ordered the 4 persons package. It doesn’t taste fresh but not too bad. There were only two teams including us, having dinner. We had a calm and peaceful dinner time. The staff was very friendly. ❤️
However, if you care of the location and prices, this hotel is reasonable 😆
When I first arrived, I was put in a room that did not look like the pictures. When I requested to be put in another room, they accommodated me and I am grateful for that. It was a beautiful room.
Really close to old town, the location of the hotel is perfect for people who want a bit of calm while staying close to the city life.
We really enjoyed this hotel, however the bathroom is a bit old school for the price paid.
Would still recommend
It's an old fashioned high standard hotel. The interior looks like 70s. The location is very quite, as it's situated on an island like part of Guilin. The quarter next to this hotel is very convenient with a 'breakfast corner' we immediately fall in love to.
