Superb place, so lucky to have found it. Problem before we came with my payment cards in UK, Rick called me, got this sorted out in no time. On arrival, check in was faultless, very easy. Friendly welcoming staff. We had some beers on the rooftop bar, again, staff there were excellent. Room was spacious, clean, and modern. Breakfast was buffet style, good selection, nice and fresh.

I would highly recommend this hotel! It was truly exceptional! Breakfast was very good, rooms were clean and the mattress was extremly comfortable. Very nice, except the Wi-fi kept dropping, very annoying. Room was good for one night's stay and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Liked that the hot items in the pans has glass tops so you can look inside w/o having to lift the lids. Otherwise, the items are pretty much the same as other hotels, except we had sausages also.

Check in isn't on the ground floor, but not an issue. Check in was quick and staff were very friendly. Room I was given was down on the ground floor. On entering my room, first thing I immediately noted is that is was right next to a footpath as somebody walked past my window, so you need to keep your window closed and curtains drawn for privacy (the only view was a building site wall anyhow!). The other thing that I wasn't impressed about is that the entrance to the hotel doors were open, as was the door to the ground floor rooms, so anyone could just walk in and gain access to the room doors on the ground floor, probaly on the upper ones too as there was no lift access control, so from a security point of view I thought that this was exceptionally bad. I departed early the next morning and it was still in the same condition of open doors, so clearly like this all night. Room itself was typically Dutch, small enough to fit what was in the room with very little extra space, very compact. Electrical sockets was an issue and I ended up having to unplug a floor lamp to get a socket to use. Bed was comfortable enough, and shower was nice and hot. Had dinner there (Thai Curry), but the place is far too ostentatious for what it is, all I wanted was curry and rice, not all the flowery fluffing that came with it. Was actually quite nice but in reality a very small portion. Was ok for one night stay but would have eaten elsewhere had I stayed longer.
Despite this hotel is a bit far from the city, it has given us the farm staycation vibe that we need. The room is huge! We selected Executive King with view. And yes the view is just breathtaking 🤩 there are two types of view; Sunrise (facing road and greeneries) and Sunset (facing lake) both are equally amazing! Also bustop is just outside abt 10 mins walk to bring you to the central. The plus point here is there’s a huge lake and a green landscape where you can just take a stroll or rent a bike at the hotel. Not forgetting the indoor swimming pool!Highly recommended for those needed a relax vacation ❤️
Llisa8352024Great staff, great location. Bikes for rent- about 30 minutes into the city. Open shower as soon as you enter room which I didn’t see the point of and shower floor became very slippery when soap or conditioner was used- be careful. Rooms lovely , bright and airy. We made the mistake of leaving windows open and I was bitten by mosquitoes all over my face so better to keep closed. Room service was efficient- food was ok. We had stayed at Ghent vdv the previous night so had high expectations- it wasn’t as good but it was ok. Breakfast was ok. The most important thing was that staff were amazing, couldn’t have been more helpful. Really enjoyed our time in Groningen and would stay again
SSuzanne C· Hotel Halbert are doing everything right to ensure that guests have an excellent stay. Every member of staff that we dealt with was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and happy to assist. Our arrival was 4 1/2 hours late which meant early hours of the morning arrival but we were given excellent directions and were met by the night porter. Our messages to the hotel were promptly replied to and informative. Two days of our stay we had an early start so would have missed breakfast but we were given very good 'breakfast bags to go' which we appreciated. The hotel breakfast is very good. The room was well-equipped and very generous in size. Disliked · Never thought that I'd ever write this in a review but actually there was nothing we didn't like and we would love to return to this beautiful city and Hotel Halbert
ผผู้เข้าพักWe are using this hotel for years for business purposes. It's a shame that level 1 and 2 rooms are so old and never been renovated for years. We usually stay in level 4 rooms, but not this time. The room on level 1 didn't have any air conditioning, and it was too hot to have a decent sleep even with opened window; and it was noisy as well... Mattress too soft (poor quality) that you end up with back pain. Breakfast quality is not the same as well. Orange juice dispenser was switched off one hour earlier before the breakfast finishes. Bacon was just not eatable... etc.
