Place stunk so badly that we could not stay there. Starting from the smoke odor lobby to the smoke odor room. We knew going in that this would be a dive but we just needed a cheap place to crash for one night and we'd be out before dawn. After check in we drove to our room. My spouse was giving a pep talk on the way reminding me of much worse places we've stayed and how we can ”do this”. I said sure but we aren't leaving our things in the room before we leave to visit family. If I had to describe the whole exterior in one word it would be Sketchy. So we open our door and were knocked back by the dank smell of cigarettes. When we came to, we saw how dinky the room was. They should be called a Microhotel. One full-sized bed and a tiny wooden table that had seen better days. A tv on the wall. 2 steps and the bathroom was just a tiny closet of rusted sink and shower. At least I think it was rust. A recent murder maybe? The shower looked like you would need a shower after your shower. We would not know as we did not take a shower in that rusted ashtray. We did not sleep there either as the brave hubby of mere minutes ago said NO WAY. I said ”come on” and he said NO and I said ”we can do this” and he got mad at me and pouted half the night until he told all my family of the horrors we seen and then they all ganged up on me and refused to let us return to said Motel Hell. And no, we didn't ask for a refund as that should have happened right away, not 6 hours later. Funny story, but it was later learned that a few years ago, my brother, who smokes, checked into the same sleeze hotel and as soon as he saw his room, demanded a refund. They pushed back but he pushed harder and got a refund. Even a smoker couldn't take it.
Small room, ask for extra pillows. Clean and furniture dates, but new toilet and sink and new entry way to room flooring. Quiet and away from I-5 but easy to get too, so you don’t hear the traffic. Black Bear Diner across the street has excellent diner options. Behind hotel has an ice cream parlor, so yeah, lots of great options. Has a pool, but it wasn’t clean enough for me to swim in, looked murky. Breakfast was eggs and sausage, Loy if bread choices and waffles. 4 different juice options and lobby was clean, employees were efficient if not overly friendly. The parking was what we came for we were pulling a fifth wheel and needed a place to stay after dry camping and wanted a bed and shower. The front bottom of the parking lot is for big rigs and campers and they have a camera that watches that area will definitely stay again.
Stayed overnight to finally see the Oregon caves. It was the perfect stop from Sacramento. Th lobby was clean and staff was welcoming.
We arrived past 8 pm and was happy that they had hot water for tea and regular and decaffeinated coffee around the clock.
I can’t say anything about breakfast since we slept through it.
Our room was surprisingly spacious, linens were nice and clean. The room had a TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a safe.
There were face, hand and bath towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel and hand soap.
Definitely one I will go back to should I need to stay overnight in the area.
Great service with a family-run atmosphere. Room, gym, and pool were all clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, hot, and set up with real plates and silverware. Refreshing touch when so many hotels use only paper plates and plastic utensils. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and we appreciate the free EV charging! Fun location near river and walking trail.
