Of all the hotels we had on our tour of the Guiana's this was the one I had the greatest hopes for but in the end I was disappointed. On the plus side, many of the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. On the minus side the breakfast was a disaster at best. We had 3 breakfast and on 2 occasions there was little if anything left to eat! There was nothing by way of cereal, fruit was limited at best, juice was unavailable on one occasion and the warm food was extremely limited. When I asked the staff whether we had missed breakfast (it was 9 am), we were told that there was food there. In truth there were perhaps 10 serving trays only 3 of which had anything in them - what they had was meagre to say the least.
My stay at Guyana Marriott was simply amazing from check-in to departure. Greeted by smiles on check-in and just a warm welcome which positively set the tone for my trip. The polite, hardworking and awesome staff really made my trip a memorable experience. Everyone was affable and top notch service, to say the least At the Executive Lounge, Francisca and Sowaynee were so professional and kind. Chef Allison was so humble, personable and they served up some really amazing and delicious dishes. I think I encountered the entire crew heheh - Shalini, Cynthia, Ashana, Janella, Nadera, Juvon. During happy hour, they even remember what you’re drinking, even with so many people they’re serving. Housekeeping was just perfect and the hardworking females were just the best and friendly and always willing to help with anything. I was working out in the gym and left my AirPods on a machine. The staff and security are so professional here that the gentleman from security had it lodged with paperwork / documentation to sign to receive it. Just amazing and was really impressed by this gesture. It would be remiss of me if I didn’t mention the amazing breakfast at this hotel; maybe one of the best in the Caribbean I have experienced. From the amazing omelette station, to the fresh juice bar, smoked salmon, even local dishes served up, everything was so delicious and tasty. The Food and Beverage Director, Mr. Sharon Mani, definitely runs a tight ship! One of the most professional, humble and kind-hearted human being I have ever encountered; this guy is definitely the ‘gold-standard’ and a great asset to this hotel. I literally saw this man standing and working the floor and greeting everyone in the packed restaurant and at one point even brought a random little girl a cake for her birthday and the smile on that kid’s face just simply said it all. Will definitely return to the hotel because of the impeccable customer service. Regards, Anthony J.
I stayed at this hotel in Guyana 🇬🇾 and it had more cons than pros. The room mixed up, room refrigerator not working properly, ice machines non functional, and the staff, some were not complementary. The view from my room was overlooking roof tops. Imagine the best features is the sky (see pictures below). There not enough Housekeeping staff for the volume of persons who came for the conference 🙄. Our sheets were not changed for the week. I rate this hotel 2 stars 🌟 and that is stretching it.
