Very clean, nice and updated with air conditioning. Beds were perfect, shower nice. Perfect location right across from Galway Girl statue and Quay pub right in center of everything. Staff was super friendly. Rooms are small hence snug but a great place for rest.

We had a very nice time at the Hyde Hotel in Galway. It is very centrally located which was helpful for anyone without a car. It was also just a 3 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient. All the staff was very helpful, gave us recommendations on things to do and places to eat. We got the Bed and Breakfast option, and it was definitely worth it. Their breakfast was delicious, we especially liked the pancakes. Our only slight disappointment was that our room did not have A/C, but the window did open to get fresh air and they had a fan in our room which helped. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Galway.
Our lake view room was beautiful, and the service was exceptional. Concierge gave us great recommendations for dinner and attractions. We aren’t used to this level of service, but it was very much appreciated. The entire hotel is gorgeous. The only bad thing I can say is that we couldn’t stay longer!
We had a wonderful unique experience at the Pullman. The food was excellent and so was the service. Gita was wonderful! The staff was accommodating to my wife’s gluten allergy and made edits as necessary along the way. We will definitely come back.
SSightseer52655227986I really wanted to rate this hotel a little higher, perhaps 3.5 stars. The PROS: 1. Great location, not far from the bus and train stations and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and pubs. 2. The hotel itself has a nice pub; a great place to stop in for a drink or snack, with an Irish band certain days of the week. A shout out to Zed and Tina at the bar. 3. Our room was spacious and clean. CONS: 1. The hotel is a little worn around the edges, and the beds and pillows were not all that comfortable for us. I heard that renovations are in the works to expand the reception area and hopefully the rooms will be renovated as well. 2. Housekeeping was inconsistent. One day we did not get new coffee packets and cream; another day the dirty glasses and coffee cups were not taken away and replaced by new ones. We realize that these things happen, but when we took our dirty dishes to reception there was no apology or offer to fix the problem and in fact we were given a lame excuse along the lines of ‘maybe housekeeping thought we wanted to keep the used cups” (with dried coffe in them?) and we were told to carry our dirty cups and glasses to the bar and get new ones from them ourselves. In fact, the hotel seemed to be staffed mainly with young inexperienced people who definitely could use more training in the area of customer service. We had some other issues with service and for this reason the rating cannot be a 4. I’m not sure I would stay again, unless changes are made.
MMichael RIt's always difficult to tell online when researching hotels if it's a good location, good service, etc. The location is hard to beat as it's right where the action is. The music does seem to go late every night (not just the weekends) so if you have a room facing the front, keep that in consideration if you're a light sleeper. Service was ok, there was a day where our room was missed so we had to inform the front desk. The front desk was very helpful. The room size was quite good for us. I would definitely recommend.
The Dean Hotel is a boutique hotel just off Eyre Square in Galway. It's only a 5-7 minute walk from the pubs and shops in downtown Galway. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You have a choice of two restaurants. Elephant and Castle is on the ground floor and from Sophie's on the top floor you can see downtown Galway and the bay. The rooms are cheerful, comfortable and ours had a turntable with a couple of LPs. There were a few more LPs in the lobby. The outdoor pool is heated and was very popular during our stay.
DDaydream02804590570I am not naive and I know that many ”hotels” in Europe are not what you would expect in America. It's very hard to find a KING bed in Ireland but this place had it so I booked a room. When I arrived, the room looked nice with a really big bathroom. However, the problem is that room 12 has a pocket door and it doesn't close entirely. I mean, there's a good inch or two on either side of the door, so it doesn't shut flush. The set up of this room has the bathroom directly in front (I mean directly in front) of the King bed. The room is small basically a King bed and a huge bathroom. Do you get where I am going with this. You can hear and smell everything that is going on in the bathroom when lying on the bed and there is nowhere else to be in the room so I would say that room 12 is only suitable for single travelers or travelers VERY comfortable with each others bathroom habits. I complained (and honestly the front desk staff get 5 stars - they were amazing) and was moved to the other King room 14. This room was fine but it has a motion detector so anytime you move, the lights come on BRIGHT. Again, if you are more than one person, the motion detector is going to put BRIGHT overhead lights on you anytime your partner has to pee in the middle of the night to that was annoying. Both rooms are not sound proof - both King rooms are on the ground floor and you can hear everything in the lobby and in the other room. They do not clean the room every day - they cleaned it once for my 5 night stay but they did empty the trash and bring fresh towels every day. Since the towels are small and not your typical hotel towels, that was necessary. They did make up the bed on my 5th night but did not change the sheets. The location is great - really close to stores and right in Eyre Square and as I said, the front desk staff are top notch - they couldn't be more helpful, attentive and sweet. The front desk is not manned at all times though - I think it's only an 8 hour shift in the afternoon evening so there would be no way to do an early check-in. Would I stay here again? No. Is it sufficient? Yes but I really felt the need to do this review due the weird layout of the rooms. How much would it cost - 50 euros? to put a real door on the bathroom and then you would have a very nice room.
Spent a few nights here with friends recently. Check in was smooth with a very friendly Aoife . Room was a good size , very comfortable beds and a spotless bathroom with bath and rain shower . The bar food was tasty and reasonably priced , the service was fast and efficient and we did not feel in any way rushed . The staff were friendly and smiling . Plenty of choice for breakfast . We will be back !
