Lunuganga is an extraordinary and deeply personal place created by Bawa over many decades. Staying at Lunuganga allowed us to experience its potency through the day and into the late evening to better grasp its beauty, complexity and his masterful vision. It's now a few weeks since we left and I think about it constantly. It isn't like anywhere else. We stayed in Bawa's bedroom with outdoor bathing courtyard, which for us was worth the additional cost. The staff were so very thoughtful and attentive - it could not have been a better stay. Thank you to the Lunuganga Trust and Teardrop Hotels for taking such good care of this unique piece of Sri Lankan architectural heritage. You've adapted it elegantly to allow it to be used successfully as a small hotel which we hope will ensure access to Lunuganga for decades to come. I will of course recommend it to anyone with an interest in C20 art, architecture and landscape - make this pilgrimage.

This was a last minute booking. On Friday morning we found out that both of us were free in the second half of the day. Looked for a place relatively closer to Colombo and made the reservation. Didnt do any research. Only knew it was run by a sister brand to Resplendent Ceylon. It started off on high note. On arrival we were welcomed by the property manager, by name, which we thought was quite a nice touch. The price point was somewhat similar to Cape Weligama where we got something akin to a suite. Compared to that the immediate reaction to the room was that it was quite small. But it was tastefully done in lovely shades of blue, had all the amenities and luxuries. Must especially mention the rain shower (the best I have seen anywhere), and the HD TV which was again of a much higher quality than many we've come across before. And the best part was that the veranda was almost on the beach with lovely views of the sunset. The perfect alternative if you are too lazy to actually get on the beach;) The next highlight was the food! The best we have ever had anywhere. (I had another favorite before, but this surpassed it;) Special mention must be made of the pastry chef. They had the softest buns and the fluffiest crossiants! But do take note that portions are quite large so you need to plan a bit if uou are ordering a four course meal. They have their own cocktail mixes which we found to be ok. They had a lovely pool which we were too lazy to use. The beach was public and small but not at crowded. The service was excellent! The check in check out process was very smooth. Servers were very efficient and the property manager kept checking on us regularly. All in all, perfect place if you want to just laze around with excellent food, service and comforts.

We have not stayed at this property yet but have stopped by a couple of times for lunch and both times the food and service have always been exceptional, it is lovely that even if you are just stopping by for a meal and even if you are not staying at the hotel the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable & at home. The fish and chips & rice and curry are both exceptionally good.
Enjoyed the day at Galle while fishing and boating... Galle is very famous for the Light House and the Galle Fort.. Its very interesting roaming around in the Galle Fort with antient type houses built. There are small resturants all over and most home made stuff..
ผผู้เข้าพักAgnus Unawatuna is a little up into the hills, but the trip up is so worth it. The place is serene and the view is breathtaking; you get a top-down view of the ocean in all its glory, and you can even enjoy the view of the famous Galle Fort and Lighthouse from a distance. Service and amenities are amazing, and facilities are modern. Rooms are clean and well-equipped. It was a wonderful experience and the perfect place for a personal retreat! Would definitely come again if I have the chance, and have already recommended this place to some friends! Thank you!
TTraveling TanMy stay at The Heritage Hotel Galle Fort was remarkable, with its fantastic location being a highlight. Nestled conveniently close to a variety of restaurants and shops, it offers the ease of exploring Galle's vibrant culture right at your doorstep.
The proximity to the iconic lighthouse and the beaches, just a short walk away, adds to the charm of the hotel. Starting the day with the wonderful breakfast options available was a delight. Moreover, the professionalism of the staff was commendable; they were attentive and ensured a seamless experience throughout my stay.
The combination of location, service, and comfort makes The Heritage Hotel a place I would gladly choose again for future visits to Galle.
The room was spacious enough and comfortable. The room had a beautiful sea view. We opted for breakfast inclusive package and the food was average. The night we had dinner in the same restaurant and we ordered chicken and it wasn’t cooked well. When we informed the same to the staff he was rude to us and was like this is how we cook the chicken. Other than this we had a good stay
We have spent 2 weeks at this hotel and I can honestly say we had a lovely time. The hotel is very clean and the staff make you feel really welcome. I probably would rate this hotel a good 3 star not 4 as advertised. It is on the beach but on a coral reef so pool shoes advised. My only few bad comment would be the food is not hot and lots of chipped glasses and crockery which need replacing. I would also like to thank Nuan and Chinthaka in the restaurant for making us really welcome and looked after. A big shout out to Roger who runs karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday nights too he even managed to get my husband up to sing. Overall the staff make this hotel a good place to stay.
