衞生間設施簡陋，豪華雙人間居然門都沒有。陽台上晾衣物不方便，客房太小。環境和服務不錯，一日三餐全包且味道不錯，停車方便。

Brilliant hotel lovely staff great food literally couldn’t fault it even gave us a free upgrade which was amazing. Amazing views of the beach buffet was great and the Italian restaurant even better. One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Perfect for chilling all day and then have entertainment and singers on of a night even in January which was great. Free bus into Funchal was also another great service

We had a wonderful week's stay. After arriving in the evening we were shown to our room which I had requested be in a quiet location. However, after experiencing noise from the entertainment area we requested the next day to be moved. Mariana was absolutely lovely and totally understood and did everything to secure us a move to a very quiet room, it was perfect! Overall, the food was very good and the dining area feels like a restaurant rather than a buffet area, very nice indeed. The staff were so helpful and did everything possible to ensure we were happy guests. They are what makes this hotel so so good!

An amazing hotel! Excellent food , service and staff !! Beautiful amazing views . You can catch the number 1 or number 2 bus from just outside takes u all the way to Funchal town centre for 1.95 euros . Exceptional . The tours are great totally recommend Nuns Valley

This was a nice hotel but was very tired and like stepping back in time to the 80's. Decor and furnishings very old fashioned . Areas in hotel.scruffy and tired. Suite waste of space having kitchen ..no need . Make it 2 bedrooms instead. Kitchen was scruffy and useless. No hotel information pack in rooms..thought this was odd . Not 5 star luxury at all, rough cheap towels and cheap toilet paper . Bed really uncomfortable had to ask for bed matress topper . Sofa uncomfortable too . This hotel need a definite makeover with a modern look to be any where near its 5 star claim. Pools were too cold to use..so defeated the object . Outside crazy golf ..rubbish ,tacky and scruffy . Terrible view of wasteland in a mess. Shame.. Evening Entertainment pants and room had no atmosphere. Old fashioned Says near beach but sea dangerous xant go in and beach rocks . Snack bar with food wasn't kept hot could be an issue . Positives Pool area nice , Inc nice pool bar ..view out to see nice . Staff friendly Nice bedding Food reasonably good Snack bars and coffee areas. Shuttle bus to funchal Negatives. Cold pools Scruffy throughout. Uncomfortable beds Lots of steps Unusable beach useless. Indoor pool also cold Lacks atmosphere No evening fun Food repetitive and bland Snack bar food cold Hilly and lot of walking. Not in Funchal No hotel info in room WOULD RATE THIS PLACE 3 STAR

Thank you for the wonderfull time at the hotel. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on, the food was delicious and the team was super kind and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and clean and has delightful views. Poncha was very strong 😁😁😁 but very delicious. Madiera is a very beautiful place and we will definitely come back here. Once again thank you for your hard work.

We visited this hotel two years running as we loved it so much the first time . The studio room was spacious . Food was excellent with lots of choices . Location was excellent with walking paths along the beach . It’s also easy enough to hop on a local bus if you so wish . Staff were friendly

Food was generally good, however the menu of the Italian restaurant was very restrictive and neither themed restaurant served coffee after the meal. Outside of the main restaurant there was nowhere to have coffee served in anything other than paper cups which doesn’t meet the standard of any other 4start hotel we have been in. The hotel was responsive to feedback and the staff were pleasant and friendly. Our room was of a generous size, thankfully with proper walls to the bathroom, we would have been disappointed had our room been one of those with glass walls totally the bathroom. The spa was a little disappointing, with a small indoor pool and both the indoor and outdoor saunas were small.

I am currently writing this review whilst stuck in my room with my Son… On a POSITIVE note the location is absolutely stunning, with amazing views and easy access to all the key areas in Madeira to go and visit. On the NEGATIVE side, I have to say “extremely dissapointed”. The Hotel is advertised as a 5* Hotel, I stay in many, many Hotels in many different locations and I would rate this Hotal “@RoyalpestanaFuncal as a 3* at best. On arrival I paid additional £ to upgrade to a Suite, which is OK in terms of size…but the room is extremely dated and has an awful musty smell, also no Bathrobes, mini fridge with only 2 x Kids Juices, the list goes on etc etc. From a H&S point of view, see photo, No Fire Evacuation guidelines in our room, missing from door? Also lots of pics attached to show age and wear and tear of room, feels like something from the 70’s and should of been renovated over 10 years ago… My Son and I have only eaten in the Hotel during our stay, the previous night we both ate in their Botanic restaurant and ate exactly the same food. At the time the food was luke warm and looked like it had been pre cooked, then reheated, ever since then we have both been extremely poorly and stuck in our room now for over 24hours due to our state. I have today been to see a Manager to notify them and they have basically denied all responsibility, an extremely dissapointing response, hence the reason for writing this review, as I wouldn’t normally. Would I come back again? Madeira 100% YES Royal Pestana @ Funchal 100% NO. I will be leaving as a very unhappy and dissatisfied Customer… Stewart
