Don't waste your time or money to come here. The minute we arrived, I wanted to leave. This dying hotel not only made me depressed, it harbors bugs, both cockroaches (see photo) and very large mosquitoes even 10 floors up.
I had booked a non smoking room and was first assigned to 1019. When we entered the room, we were hit with a very damp dirty musty smell. It's so damp that large patches of mold was growing on the walls. I wish I took photos of that but we got so grossed out that we left the room.
I went downstairs to inform the staff and they reassigned us to 1003. Imagine giving a room with all that mold to a family with a toddler?
Eventhough this was supposed to be a non smoking room, the room smelled like someone had smoked there besides smelling like a dirty dog. We immediately opened the balcony doors to try to air out the room.
Looking down to the 8th floor from the balcony, we saw that the pool is dry, empty and sitting unused. Dirt and grime has collected around the pool deck and on the bottom of the pool. See picture.
As night fell, we also noticed no lights in most of the hotel rooms. Hardly anyone is here. It is dead here.
When we arrived, the front of the hotel was blocked off with hazard tape so our driver parked on the street to drop us off. The fountains are in poor condition and barely spouted water and it was algae ridden. There is trash and debris and unkept.
Entering the property, the lobby was barely air conditioned, the air felt stiffling and humid, and smelled musty and damp. The entire atmosphere eerie, lifeless, dim, very unwelcoming and lifeless.
The carpets in the room are matted and stained. It's like sleeping with a very old, dirty dog all night.
We were given a dollar size piece of soap and very tiny bottle of shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom shower. The shampoo bottle attached to the wall was filled with water and the shower gel bottle was empty.
The toilet was very difficult and slow to flush and the sink seemed clogged and hardly drained.
The two face towels given were worn, grey and looked like rags. The duvet cover had a tear in it. See photos.
If you like sleeping on a box spring, that's what our room was equiped with. No mattress. The bed is hard as heck and extremely uncomfortable.
The room is also very dusty and the walls are stained and dirty. Almost seems the rooms are not cleaned but locked until there are the occasional guest. See photos.
The refrigerator didn't get cold at all and stayed at room temperature. The TV also didn't work.
The tub isn't secured to the floor and leaked during the bath. There were two ciggerett butts left around the tub in my cousin's room 1013 eventhough it's a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor.
I almost wanted to skip breakfast all together, it has been such a depressing, unappetizing experience all night in a dirty room. See pictures of dust build up around the corners of the room near the AC vent and on the furniture.
The staff yelled at us instead of giving instructions to breakfast. We could not find the back elevator to the breakfast room. The buffet selection is very small with empty trays with no food.
The walls and glass surfaces are so filthy that there is haze build up. I am wondering, how hard would it be to hire someone to clean the windows and glass and surrounding entry pedestals and front entrance that is so visible?
This has been an extremely unpleasant hotel stay and nonrefundable. In my humble opinion, it needs to be closed, properly renovated and reopened to invigorate this neighborhood.
The recent Chinese "Outstanding" ratings are probably fabricated. Read the English reviews. Better yet, don't come here at all. Go elsewhere for a better stay.
