As we explored the primitive landscape, close to Wen Chang Ge Primary school, we spotted a beautiful place and was inspired to build a hut, which will sit at the foot of Nan Hua Mountain, neighboring the tradition school Wen Chang Ge, which will shelter people from noise, tension and restlessness of city life, and which will bring to people inner peace.
This will be a place to read, to meditate, and to look into our souls. As it echoes with the theme contained in a collection of essays by Shen Congwen, we name this place Xue Qing Ji (Collection of the Snowy and Sunny Days). With its cultural origin, Xue Qing Ji features tranquility and natural design, trying to offer what is best for humanity to prevail. It provides secluded rooms to read and contemplate, open spaces to talk, the best tea to sip, the most natural food to taste.
We wish our guests will find this true: with our souls settled, we have found the best home.
