Das Hotel ist neu, gross, sehr modern, viel Holz. Die Spa Suite Master war super: gross, toller Whirlpool, Privat-Sauna, genial :-). Zusätzlich gratis Zugang zu Saunabereich im 6. OG. Feines Essen im Restaurant (Abendessen und Frühstück). Im Restaurant ruft man den Service über einen Würfel, der beim Antippen leuchtet. Self-Check-in und -out per Computer, kein Problem. Im Barbereich hat es eine schöne, grosse Smokers Lounge. Uns hat es super gefallen!

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal in Hotel Sorell Speer. Dieses Mal nicht alleine als Paar, sondern mit meiner Mutter. Ich habe die beiden Zimmer lange im voraus gebucht, direkt über Hotel (Kette). Mein Wunsch: zwei Zimmer nebeneinander oder vis à vis. Bei der Ankunft wurden wir behandelt als ob wir noch nie in diesem oder einem anderen Sorell gewesen wären. Ein „Willkommen zurück“ hätte uns gefreut. Zimmer lagen dann zwar auf der gleichen Etage, aber nicht nebeneinander. Das hat uns enttäuscht. Besonders da es unser einziger Wunsch war. Die Zimmer ok. Schön sauber. Parkettboden. Keine Kaffeemaschine auf dem Zimmer, Dusche in der Badewanne, Möbel erinnern an 80er Jahre. Alles ok, aber nicht für den Preis. Frühstück: klassisch. Nichts aussergewöhnliches. Es gibt immer noch nur zwei Säfte und nicht wie in den anderen Sorell eine Auswahl von fünf+. Warum der Tee im kleinen Espresso Tassli serviert wird erschloss sich uns allerdings nicht. Nettes Personal. Beim auschecken auch alles sehr 0815. Kein „bis bald“ „gute Reise“,…immerhin wurde ein Wasser für auf den Weg. Global gesagt: wir fühlten uns nicht ganz willkommen, unser Wunsch wurde nicht berücksichtigt und auch nicht korrigiert als ich dies beim Check in sagte, das Frühstück ok. Preis Leistung stimmte an dem Wochenende für uns persönlich nicht.

I booked a three night stay here for myself and son aged 2.5. I found the journey from Zurich airport easy. I took the train to HB then changed to a train to Brunnen. I did switch at Zug. Then the 504 bus to the hotel was 10 minutes from Brunnen station. Overall it took just under 2 hours. There was some confusion at check in. I booked via ********** and assumed I was in the hotel. I was not aware there were apartments, and these are treated differently from hotel guests. After discussing this with management, we agreed I could pay an additional fee to be treated as a hotel guest. This was much better as it included full board food for my son, breakfast for both of us, towels/robes and lots more extras. Had I just been in the apartment, I would have had to check out at 10am whereas hotel/hostel is 11am. Also check in for apartments is at 4pm whereas hotel/hostel in 3pm. Breakfast is charged at CHF 27 per person/per day and children’s meals are CHF 9 per meal. Also, the gym is charged at CHF 15 per person/per day. As you can see it can get very expensive. I found the apartment to be very spacious and comfortable. It was frustrating having to navigate finding the apartment in the dark as the signs were not clear and it was difficult to navigate some steps with the buggy. The restaurant was great for the children’s meals/ Plenty to choose from. The restaurants did get busy but I never booked and was always able to get a table. At lunch I did not want to eat so little one only ate, I felt like the waitresses did not like this and kept asking if I wanted to order something. The kids facilities are the best. The play area is great with lots of fun toys. Sadly parents let their children run unsupervised but that’s not the hotels fault. Ethan also went to TOM’s Happy Club one morning whilst I went to the gym. The pool was also great. Plenty to keep the children entertained. We also enjoyed the cinema room. There isn’t much local to the hotel unless you have a car but we were only there for a few days so it was ok for us. Overall I would recommend this hotel for families. So much to keep children happy. PRO: Freundliches Personal, gute Lage, einfaches Parken, geräumige und moderne Zimmer CONTRA: Das offene Bad verhindert jegliche Privat- und Intimsphäre. Dadurch, dass wirklich überall Spiegel angebracht sind, sieht man immer jede Ecke des Raumes und wird auch gesehen. Das WC hat zudem in meiner Wahrnehmung keine richtige Tür, sodass man an ”allem” teilhaben kann. Andere Punkt: Im Gebäude und insbes. im Erdgeschoss riecht es IMMMER nach Küche und insbesondere nach kaltem Fett aus der Fritteuse. Ich war mittlerweile mehrfach und es ist wirklich penetrant, auf mich gar abstoßend.
