Staying at Jiuhuli·Siheyuan Guesthouse (Ancient City Drum Tower Branch) 玖合里·四合院民宿（大同古城华严寺店） was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The location is absolutely unique — being inside the ancient city walls of Datong and staying in a traditional Chinese courtyard house made the entire experience feel authentic and unforgettable. It is much more than just a hotel; it is a cultural experience. The decoration and design are impeccable: elegant, refined, and beautifully done with incredible attention to detail. The rooms are extremely comfortable, with high-quality products, premium facilities, and a very peaceful atmosphere that made us feel at home immediately. What made our stay even more exceptional was the outstanding service. The staff went above and beyond in every possible way. They helped us arrange an excellent private driver at a very reasonable price, which allowed us to enjoy a perfectly smooth and efficient day visiting three major attractions outside the city: the Hanging Temple, the Yungang Grottoes, and the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. Everything was organized flawlessly, making the trip completely stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, the service was simply amazing from beginning to end. We took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. เป็นบ้านพักในเมืองโบราณต้าถง ตรงข้ามเป็นวัด ฮว๋าเหยียน ใกล้ประตูเมือง ยังใกล้ที่เเดินที่ยวที่มีชื่อเสียงของเมืองโบราณต้าถงอีกหลายจุด เดินไปที่เที่ยวสะดวก ใกล้ที่พักยังมีป้ายรถเมล์ สามารถนั่งไปต่อสายอื่นนอกเมืองเพื่อไปถ้ำผาหยุนกังได้ เหลาปั่นใจดี ห้องพักใหญ่โตสะอาดสะอ้าน มีความเป็นส่วนตัว เหลาปั่นบริการเต็มที่ ให้ความช่วยเหลือ เมื่อเราสอบถามเส้นทาง หน้าตายิ้มแย้มแจ่มใส ใจดี เหมือนไปพักบ้านญาติ ตกเย็นมีเอาผลไม้มาให้ พร้อมน้ำดื่ม มาที่นี่ไม่มีอด รู้สึกผูกพัน ให้เลย 5 ดาว ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow, I loved this homestay! The lively and kind lady who runs Yishui homestay is a good English speaker and very patient, so foreigners as well as Chinese will feel at ease staying here. It is a very hospitable atmosphere! Location is in the pedestrianized part of the old city, very near the Drum Tower. Therefore, there is lots to see/do/eat while walking nearby. But the location is also not far from the driving road, so it was an easy, short walk to meet my driver when going out to the hanging temple, the grottos, and the train station. The facility is an old-style courtyard home, with a beautiful wood-beam ceiling. The interior rooms are completely renovated and modernized, with great water pressure, all necessary toiletries, an excellent quality hair dryer, slippers, and super air-con/heating! (It was -3 one night during my stay, but I was warm and comfy in that room!) Clean towels are brought daily. Breakfast was included in my stay and I was very happy with the food. It is an ample Chinese-style breakfast, and you can inform the cook if there is some food you don't/can't eat. Although the breakfast was plenty of food for me, I saw a guest ask for more baozi, and he was kindly given 2 more. Fresh fruit was also offered for free several times during my stay. Within a 5 minute radius (walking), there are many eating places for lunch, dinner, snacks, and tea/coffee. There are also numerous historical sites (dragon wall, temples, ”mansions”, the Catholic Church, etc.) in easy walking distance. In fact, there was so much to see nearby that I was not able to see everything! The homestay looks very charming, and many, many people were often seen stopping to take photos in front of the homestay, as well as on the back wall of the homestay, which is next to a Chinese Opera stage--it is especially lovely at night! It is a 10-15 minute walk to the ancient city wall, where you can climb up and enjoy the sights, or visit a (Chinese) bookstore within the city wall, under one of the arches. My Beijing friends, who stayed at a nearby hotel, were equally impressed when they came to visit me in Yishui homestay, and they got the WeChat contact so that they can return to stay at Yishui homestay on a return trip--so easy to get there by fast train from Beijing!

ที่พักทำเลดี อยู่ในเมืองเก่าเลย เดินไปที่เที่ยวอย่างวัด Hanyan หรือ Nine Dragon Screen ได้ไม่ไกล อยู่ใกล้ถนนคนเดินด้วย ไปเดินเล่นตอนเย็นๆ ค่ำๆ ได้ คนไม่ค่อยเยอะ ไม่คึกคักนัก จริงๆ ต้าถงเป็นเมืองที่น่าเที่ยวมาก มาจากปักกิ่งไม่ไกล พักสักสองคืนกำลังดี ห้องพักที่นี่สะอาด เป็นห้องปลอดบุหรี่และไม่มีกลิ่นบุหรี่ ดูเหมือนว่าตามต่าง จว ของจีนจะหาโรงแรมปลอดบุหรี่ยาก หลาย รร ทำเลดี ดูดี แต่ให้สูบบุหรี่ แต่ รร นี้ปลอดบุหรี่และทำเลดี ราคาก็ไม่แพง จากสถานีรถไฟต้าถงหนาน นั่งแท็กซี่มาประมาณ 20 หยวน

這次到大同旅遊，選擇入住聖雅居民宿，真的是最明智的決定！從預訂到離店，全程體驗無可挑剔。 地理位置： 民宿位置鬧中取靜，去古城牆、華嚴寺、九龍壁等核心景點都非常方便，步行即可到達。周邊生活便利，但又不會過於嘈雜，晚上休息非常安靜。 環境設施： 一進門就被深深吸引！裝修極具特色，完美融合了古典中式美學和現代的舒適感。房間打掃得一塵不染，床品柔軟舒適，躺上去瞬間卸去旅途的疲憊。設施更是滿分，高清投影、品質一流的洗浴用品，細節處處能感受到主人的用心。 服務熱情： 老闆和工作人員的熱情好客讓人有回家的感覺。房間內介紹了遊玩攻略和美食地圖，幫忙預訂門票，省心不少。 特色體驗： 不得不提的是他家附近的早餐！地道的山西特色，乾淨又美味，為一天的遊玩注滿了能量。 總之，聖雅居不僅僅是一個住宿的地方，更是旅途中的一份美好回憶。下次來大同，絕對會再次入住，也會毫不猶豫地推薦給所有朋友！

I spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay Location: - Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring. - 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town - 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions - 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets. I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around. Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major. Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening. Room: The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift) Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set! Service: - Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate. - Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge. - I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me. - Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here - Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed. I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!
