Clone Country House

We recently had our friends hen party in Clone House and we are so glad we went with this venue ! Jeff was so accommodating and the house and bedrooms were beautifully kept! The kitchen had everything we needed and more ! I would definitely recommend Clone house for a hen party you won’t regret it !

I came here with a group of friends for a party and we had such a lovely time. The house is gorgeous, the bedrooms are lovely and comfortable. The gardens are lovely and the kitchen was great. We had the whole place to ourselves, it felt like we had a little hotel all to ourselves.

Our stay at the Clone House was amazing! The breakfast was phenomenal, especially the fresh baked scones. The owner, Jeff, was very accommodating and gave us a tour of the beautiful grounds upon arrival. The heated mattresses in the rooms made us nice and cozy and the rooms were gorgeous and clean. I would definitely return!

The property is truly delightful! Nestled in a remote, serene location close to nature, it offers a spacious and beautifully designed interior that perfectly complements the old Georgian style. Jeff has done an exceptional job curating art pieces and objects throughout the space. My queen room was especially comfortable, with a cozy bed and an excellent bath tub ideal for a relaxing soak. All the amenities exceeded expectations. Additionally, Svetlana offers a truly exceptional breakfast experience. Guests have the opportunity to select their preferred time slot and menu option the day before, adding a personalized touch to their stay. I've sampled various dishes, and each one was superb. A special mention goes to the coffee aficionados—the freshly brewed coffee served in a French press is a delightful departure from the typical instant coffee found at other B&Bs. Plus, they're always happy to offer refills for those who desire an extra cup. Moreover, the B&B boasts three lovely dogs, ducks, and a beautiful garden to explore, making it the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. Without a doubt, it's the best B&B I've had the pleasure of staying in during my five years living in Ireland.

The welcoming was formal and cold. There is extensive scaffolding outside the room, it was like a building site. The room was nice but when looking closer, it was a little grubby. The tea tray was on a kitchen table, the cups and glasses had not been polished, leaving orange juice residue on the glasses and the spoons stained. The sauna was nice but there was no bathrobe or slippers provided. The internet when down at approx 10pm due to the weather and with no tv or radio, it was a quiet night, except for the rattling scaffolding and tarp right outside the window. A breakfast form was left out the night week we arrived to complete. We didn't recieve what we had ordered, we got potato scones instead of hash browns. Breakfast was very basic and service was slow. I wouldn't recommend this accommodation or host. It's too quiet, no evening food offered, no bar, no atmosphere. Not for us.

Don't bother .... It's a dump in the middle of nowhere. Americans might find it "Charming"...Furniture is worn and tired...strange staff...No Internet,No TV...Run down old driveway... We left and stayed elsewhere... No food except breakfast.

I wrote a review of Clone House, in Aughrim, for our daughter,s wedding here, in Aughrim in 2021 . All was perfect except for my ommision of vital staff members. Jeff and Svetlana, the owners, provided a splendid venue and service. But I omitted the stalwart Sarah, who is working there for over 10 years and of whom, no request is too much. Talk about a little treasure, well done to you Sarah. She was aided on our day by Cloe, another temporary member of staff. Clone House specialises in small groups, up to 25 0r so, for these occasions and the old world charm of the place is very appealing.

We stayed for 4 nights in August and had a lovely, relaxing time. Jeff and Svetlana are very welcoming and friendly. My daughter had a wonderful time helping Svetlana with the geese and peacocks! She didn't didn't want to leave and is already planning a trip for next year. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with lovely furnishings. Breakfast was excellent - nicest porridge I have ever had. The grounds are lovely and our little dog was able to roam freely. Overall, it was a fabulous stay and would highly recommend.

Picturesque! Lovely landscaping and area's to explore and relax. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh, delicious. Max was a delight.
