The hotel was located in an ancient restored building
The room was spacious and clean

Fantastic hotel and the staff were all very friendly, polite and happy to help. If you are looking for a great hotel in Colchester look no further.

The greeting staff were very informative and pleasant. They were able to answer any questions we had for our stay.
Unfortunately this didn’t carry through to the bar staff who ignored us when we were waiting to be served and then finally when we were, we seemed to be an inconvenience to them, we left and took our evening customs elsewhere and only used the room to stay in.
The room was average; we found dead insects in the curtains. The bathroom improved our stay and was very comfortable.
Overall, I’d like to see an improvement in the bar staff and the cleanliness of the rooms improved.

We were given an upgrade to a suite where the furniture and soft furnishings were excellent and there was space in lounge area to hold a meeting and dining table was adequate for meals to be eaten in the room. The bathroom was luxurious with everything one could imagine. The bedroom of good size and comfortable Staff were courteous and helpful in the reception and bar inparticular. I look forward to staying at this hotel again.

Most of the check in process could have been done beforehand on-line. Very minor point, the rest of the stay was perfect. Lovely hotel.

We stayed in the courtyard suite with our labrador dog. Excellent spacious, clean room. Shame well behaved dogs not allowed in the cloisters restaurant at breakfast time.
Bathroom floor VERY dangerous when wet.
Overall would definitely stay again.
