First of all the driveway leading up to the location is hidden and it looks abandoned. There is really no maintenance and weeds everywhere. The lobby is run down, and the couch in the lobby is missing a leg and held up with a book and can of soup. That should have been our first red flag. The fellow at the front counter was very friendly, so we thought we would give it a shot since the photos of the room seemed good online. Walking to the room, half the doors of other rooms were either open or broken, or didn't match (unpainted or different paint). We opened our door and immediately smelled mold. The air conditioner and bathroom fan were covered in grime and dust and obviously hadn't been cleaned in months. Then we noticed the ceiling was actually caving in on one corner. The bathroom light didn't work in the shower, the shower itself was covered in mold, there was also mold on the walls. We immediately went back down, requested a cancellation, and went to another motel across the street that was new and clean. Thank you to the front desk gentleman for not giving us any issues on cancelling, you were lovely. I'm sorry you work in such a dive, you deserve better. I feel like this happens a lot based on your reaction.
BEWARE this Hotel is a TRAP taking Advantage of seniors who are not computer/internet savvy who book reservation via direct telephone with hotel associate… Grievances include initial non- disclosure of non- refundable cancellation policy with reservation associate priority being upselling of membership/ rewards…Next level robbery is demanding immediate CC full payment of stay despite booking dates being 6-weeks out…Ridiculous daily rate $549 for 2-night stay despite being able to book same room/dates for $350 online ( you think this senior wasn’t taken advantage of ???)….No resolution/refund for 82 yo senior who booked reservation in error even though request to cancel was made <24 hrs after booking only becoming aware of cancellation/charge policies when emailed confirmation# later in the day and reviewed by family member……Forfeiture of total stay cost $549 if cancelled as per this hotel’s policy…No refund….Multiple calls to hotel with referral to guest service manager resulted in initial no call back within48 hrs requiring yet continued call to hotel management…Absolute refusal of refund with penalty forfeiture of TOTAL stay cost if reservation cancelled per their policy even when calls to IHG for escalated inquiry/complaint were made…Absolutely NO HOSPITALITY in this Hotel or Corporate IHG…Would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND this Hotel or any IHG property Nationwide … if I could rate (-5) Star for Customer Service I would in a Heartbeat…. Senior Reservation Bookers Beware!!!!
Not too bad of a hotel for the price. Convenient to Hershey and Harrisburg. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights; went to the Pa. Gift and Christmas Show at the Pa. Farm Show Complex. Could have had some type of fruit and maybe other items for breakfast but all in all not bad. Our room was very nice and the man who checked us in and out was very polite and helpful. Only thing we were concerned with was the elevator; was not a very smooth ride, 3rd floor light didn't light up, and it made a lot of noise. Would stay here again
Enjoy all the attractions Hershey has to offer during your stay with us. Both Hersheypark and the Giant Center are three miles away, as are the local shops and restaurants. Harrisburg, Gettysburg, and Lancaster are all within an hour of us. Relax by our heated outdoor pool or get a workout in at our fitness center. WiFi is on us.
