I loved everything about this hotel: the location, the reception, the room and the view. Location: perfectly located in the heart of the historic part of town The hotel was built in 1889 and does NOT have an elevator or ground level rooms. This was not a problem for us, but I overheard one person complain to the receptionist about it, even though it is stated in bold on their website. The stairs are fairly steep, which may be a problem for some. Reception: very friendly, easy-going and knowledgeable Room: ours was located on the third (top) floor with a fantastic view of the waterfront and the water. The room was large with high ceilings and decorated in Victorian style. The bathroom had adequate space, but the shower was fairly small. It had good water pressure. Everything was squeaky clean. Because the building is more than a century old, we were able to hear when someone next door took a shower. Noise-wise there were also the trash collector trucks early in the morning. None of this bothered us, though. The kingsize bed was very comfortable with good linens and nice pillows. There was no A/C which we didn't need anyway, but there was a fan. Free parking in the rear of the hotel. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but our room had a small corner with a refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker and coffee/tea supplies. There were many small restaurants within walking distance. Our favorte was Owl Sprit Cafe, which was just around the corner from the building. One thing that we weren't aware of until we experienced it: the town basically shuts down on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Many restaurants and stores are closed on Tuesday and some on Wednesday.
