I loved the location of the Hampton. Very peaceful. It was also one of the quietest hotels I have stayed in. I was here on homecoming weekend. They were sold out and had a group of children. They must have excellent insulation, because I never heard people walking above me or in the rooms next door. I worked a long day and had no distractions. It was an older Hampton, but they keep it clean. I loved the desk - easy to work from. I liked the coffeemaker on the desk. It is the cleanest single coffeemaker I have had in a room to date. I used it every day. The staff was all nice. The front desk was welcoming. When I walked in, there was a smell of fresh baked cookies. Have not encountered warm chocolate chip cookies in quite a while. The pool was very busy with kids, so did not have a chance to use it, but noticed it was a nice area. I love oatmeal for breakfast, so was happy to see a warm tub ready to go. Much better than packets. They had a nice selection of breakfast cereal. Wish they had Greek yogurt. No fresh fruit.
Immediately when you arrive you notice that the building is hard to enter. It does not have the normal drive in area, and all the front spots were full. Made it very difficult to bring in our luggage through a small side door for a three day stay, even with the help of the staff. The initial front desk crew was very nice, but over our stay it was noticeable that the front desk was not manned for questions, concerns, or support. We even had another resident tell us about the same issue in the parking lot. Our room was nice, but it was not prepared well, had an old backpack from a previous guest, no refill toilet paper, no tissues, and limited coffee/sugar. Plus the toilet was wobbly, which we complained about and was not same day repaired. We did find the free coffee in the lobby secure snack area, although the supplies were not replenished day to day. No breakfast and no pool as correctly advertised. Refrigerator was large and functional, and reasonably quiet. Heat was adequate but not superior. It was not great that a family with young children was placed in the room above us and there was significant noise through the ceiling. The hotel location was adequate walking distance to the burger king, near I-70, and near discount shopping of Ollies, Gabes, Aldi's, and Big Lots.
