I really recommend this hostel if you would love to do some hikes in the Brecon Beacons! The staff was unbelievable friendly, everything was very clean, the beds are nice and the rooms had a nice temperature. Three little facts: I don’t know if it was just the day I was there or it is in general, but there isn’t a lot of youth there. Almost everybody was 30y or above or a family with children. I really didn’t mind as everybody was very friendly and respectful, but if you go to hostels to meet young people, it could be possible that there are none . The second ‘fact’ is that there is free breakfast as well. If you book a room, you can have free, but simple, breakfast like cornflakes, toast with jam, little croissants and chocolade breads(?), coffee and tea & some juice. I think this wasn’t really clearly mentioned on the website, so I’ve bought an English breakfast in advance. So if you don’t want to spend extra money, you’ll still be able to eat something before you go on an adventure : ) The last fact is that, even tho you only can check in at 17h, if you arrive early, you could drop your bags in the common room and go on a hike. It isn’t really guarded all the time, but I had the feeling the place and people there were very trustworthy!
