We stayed for business at The St Leonards ringwood. We were greeted by the friendly staff to a absolutely clean and stunning hotel. The rooms were equipped with all the essentials down to a shortbread biscuit with your tea.The views out the back have a woodlands view with great outdoors seating area. The food was delicious and the main thing for me hot.You are local to local walks and 30mins to Southampton City centre. Thanks Ashley Micheal for making our stay warm and welcoming. Definitely come back on next business trip
The pub looks like a lovely old pub from the outside and the bar and restaurant area has been modernised to a good standard. The menu is a typical chain pub one but I can’t comment on the food quality as we didn’t eat there. There was a good selection of beers including some local ales. We were staying in one of the rooms. Parking was easy as there’s lots of spaces behind the pub and you just register your car on arrival. When we arrived to check in, they couldn’t find our room key so we were give a drink on the house while we waited. The staff we met while we were there were friendly. The room was spacious with a comfortable king size bed. There was plenty of storage place for clothes. The bathroom was also large with a good size bath and a powerful shower. However, the room really needed modernising. The carpets and decor were very dated. The window is a very old wooden one and there was a definite draught through it. We could hear everything going on in the street below. It was especially noisy when they were setting up the market or the bin lorry’s were collecting. There weren’t any sockets next to the bed, only 3 in the room, one with the tv plugged into it. In the bathroom, the sink had some stains in it, the extractor was poor, the shower gel dispenser was empty and the bath plug didn’t seal properly. So the water slowly drained away while I was in the bath. Overall it was cheap and cheerful and ok for a couple of days but the rooms could really do with modernising.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Beautiful building full of railway memorabilia. Delicious breakfast and a nice choice. Beautiful bed linen and fabulous toiletries that smell divine. Lovely tea/ coffee facilities in the room and everything you need for your stay. Room furnishings maybe a little tired. Carpet could be cleaner especially in the corners. Delicious food in the restaurant but the wall near the round brick window needs washing. Food spatters, yuk. Public bathroom nice but the tiles beneath the hand dryer need a good clean from the water droplets. Evening bar staff could be a little less giggly with local patrons especially when said local is using unnecessary colourful language and very obviously flirting with the young girls!! Overall very happy and would be happy to recommend as a place to stay and perfect for Bournemouth Airport and early flights, we even had a little breakfast bag for our journey 😊
