Last Thursday 15//12/2022 I suffered the worst hotel experience of my entire life, I wouldn't wish it on any human being. And yes, I'm venting because the hotel chain Hotel B&B HOTEL Cergy Saint Christophe treated me miserably. I was assigned to a project in Paris, and I was traveling from Berlin. My flight was arriving at 23:30. I had made my reservation through Booking.com and tried to pay with the digital debit card assigned by my company, Hotel B&B informs me that I don't need to pay in advance that I will pay at the hotel. Then, by messaging them I told them that my card is a digital debit card, and I ask if that would be a problem on my arrival. No one ever responded and I decide to travel. Then, I find myself two days later, at 0:40 in an industrial zone at -5°C with a thermal sensation of -8°C, the taxi drops me off and I realize that there is nothing around the hotel. There began all my tragedy, there was no reception or staff, only an automatic machine which asked me to pay everything with a physical credit card. Right next to the machine is an emergency button to call the hotel staff, I called by pressing the button, and I was answered by the most ruthless person in the world. Grossly he said ”I can't do anything for you, credit card or nothing”, I insisted explaining, grossly he said - ”Don't you understand? I insisted explaining, he rudely said ”-Don't you understand, credit card or nothing, otherwise you must leave, because I can't open the door for you”. I panicked when I tried to ask for an Uber back to the center of Paris and realized that no Uber would come because the area is so remote. I called again and begged him to at least let me go to the reception that I was freezing to death, that when I found a taxi I would go. Indifferent he said ”it's not my problem, I can't talk to you anymore because I have to talk to other callers”. After calming down myself and, after 45 minutes in the bitter cold, I tried the machine again with my personal debit card and was approved for one night only. So I managed to get into my room. The next day, I cancelled my entire reservation for the next days at the reception and I checked out of that hotel. Well, the last straw, 3 days after I checked out my email and the hotel charged my stay for 7 days to the digital card of my company... The worst manager of a hotel attended me, and promised to give me my money back. He does not do it in the time he promised and I went back to the hotel directly to solve this problem. The manager didn't even say good morning, and yelled at me ”what the hell are you doing here?, I told you I was going to solve it... Then we argued, I kept calm, he gave me a refund invoice, and told me it's not the hotel's fault that you arrive at night. It was all your fault, here is your bill. Au revoir!!! How can you Hotel B&B hire such persons to work in hospitality? and how can you Hotel B&B let them abuse and humiliate your customers?
Stayed as on a Shearings 5 day coach trip. Travelled with 2 teenagers. Please note that there is no longer a pool at this hotel. It has been filled in, which was a huge disappointment to us. However, whilst I wouldn’t rate this as a 4 star hotel, it was adequate for the rest of our needs. Our beds were comfortable & clean. The shower & toilet were clean. Toiletries were provided, as well as tea & coffee making facilities. Still only providing small paper cups. There were only 2 even though 3 of us in the room, so we used 1 from the shower room. Would suggest going back to china cups/mugs but if not- supply bigger & more paper cups. We would have more than one drink. They also supply a complimentary small bottle of water each day in the small fridge which was much appreciated. I understand that the hotel has recently been taken over - now B&B rather than Novotel. There was some work being done near the lifts - the carpets were a bit grubby here & up the stairs to the next level. There was no noise or disturbance whilst we were in the hotel which was mainly in the evening. Breakfast was a selection of :- cold meats, cheese, a choice of 4 cereals, fruit juices, different slices of bread to make toast, plain croissants, choc au pain, cinnamon rolls & a machine that rolled out 2 small pancakes at each press of a button. There was some fruit & hot drinks were accessible from a machine. For the evening meals, as we were in a coach party, they wanted us to sit together in one area of the restaurant. There were 2 large round tables, a long rectangle & the rest were for 4 to sit at- if you are a couple, you share a table, one way of getting to know your travelling companions. The menu of what you were having that evening was displayed on a piece of paper on each table. There was no choice. The portion size was adequate, the dressing on the starters was lovely. We did go for a very short walk 2 evenings we were there but we didn’t see anything of note in the area, no other restaurants or shops, we did walk through the park next to the hotel - only a small play area. So overall I would have no problem staying here again on such a trip but would have liked a pool!
The hotel staff were friendly and hospitable, always ready to assist me with my needs and concerns. The complimentary breakfast buffet was another highlight of my stay, with an array of dishes and beverages to choose from, catering to various dietary preferences.
My husband & I travel often for work and I have never seen a WORSE place than this hotel. It used to be Oliviarus but is clearly under new management & staff. The new owner has shut off all the air conditioners so in the summer time the lobby & rooms feel like saunas. They clean the rooms ONLY on Tuesdays & we had to beg the staff for toilet paper. My husband asked for soap for the first time after 5 days and he was shouted at for 4 minutes straight by the cleaning crew! They only gave us 1 key card even though we were 2 ppl. They charge you 10Euros for the 2nd card because all they care about is making money. The first night I was there I was yelled at by STEPHAN for daring to object to this. The 3rd night I was there I was yelled at him again to daring to ask for help at the reception desk. On the 4th night I was there I tripped on one of their cheap rugs and ripped my big toe open on a piece of glass. Nobody asked if I was okay. They did not even have any bandaids. They actually tried blaming it on me. They did not comp anything - did not even help with my hospital bill. The other guy there actually made ****** comments towards my friend - saying that “Iranians just like to talk and talk.” When I tried to find out Stephan’s name he refused to tell me and actually asked me to leave. The other staff told me the next day that they were not authorized to tell anyone his name. The staff, the owner and this entire hotel needs to be shut down. Please do not go here. You will only regret it.
