3 of us travelled to Oberammergau for the Passion play and the Arnika was our assigned hotel. Really warm welcome when we arrived, rooms were comfortable and spotless. Beautiful views from our wee balconies. A very peaceful part of the town so it was really relaxing. The food was delicious. A really varied breakfast, hot and cold buffet; yogurt, cheese, cold meats, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, etc. Our evening meals were again delicious with a good choice on the menu. It's a wonderful place to stay!!

The location in Oberammergau was extremely convenient. It was just far enough away from the city center but also close walking distance to just about anything (even the local Lidl, etc.). The hotel grounds were very nice and the staff were kind and helpful, the breakfast was very nice traditional German+ (English hot options). We stayed in one of their Family Rooms (entry foyer, living area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms w/ master that included tub, full shower, dry sauna; master bedroom had dual vented skylights ) - the room was amazing! It was as described on the booking site and the pictures were very accurate, but it also had additional balcony space, an extra bathroom (with shower), and a shower in the main bath that we didn't expect. There were also multiple closets for clothes storage for a longer stay. Not a critique, but for those that are used to air conditioning - be aware that the room(s) do not have air conditioning - this is pretty typical in most of Germany, let alone the Bavarian Alps. This was not an issue for us as it was very pleasant weather (both day and night). We were able to keep the balcony doors open for good air flow, but in very hot weather a fan (or fans) would be welcome in the rooms to keep air flow through the spacious room! Looking back at our overall trip - had we known a bit more we probably would have shortened our stay in Munich to stay at the Aktiv Landhotel Bold additional nights and taken in the surrounding areas more and it would have been wonderful!
