Was looking forward to a great night with my partner and having a night away but was very disappointed with our encounter with the staff and the administration. We had a voucher for a night stay that covers the cost of one night stay ”family room or standard room” Which I let them know the day I booked the room. When we arrived we were told by front desk we would be required to pay another $108 plus a $200 deposit for the room cost. She let us know the Admin left a note on the file we had to pay for the additional cost of the rates. We paid and wanted to speak with the manager in the morning. When we went to the front desk in the morning the admin was not in yet and the gentleman at the front desk let us know the same thing and they even had another guest checking in that day with same voucher and they didn't plan on honoring. We had a voucher that cover the cost for one full night and no other cost. We left and waited for the manager to arrive to discuss the ”extra cost” when I called the front desk they let us know all charges were being reverse and the night was covered. The manager (also the one who put the note on the file) let us know ”the staff is new” so redirected the blame and them also said the vouchers were donated and not allowed to be used the way they were being advertised which is completely false but also should not fall on us as a guest of the hotel. If this was an issue with who they donated to then this should be brought to their attention. This started our night away very poorly and we were very disappointed with the service we received from 3 staff members. We do not ”go away” for a night but this was one time that was ruined and left a sour taste in our mouth. The breakfast was also was one of the most disappointing meals we have had at a hotel.
This is my favourite place to stay in Banff! The townhouse feels very new and well built! You have everything in the house and it is so practical. The beds were so comfortable! I love the resort for the goats and deers. You can also see the big horns in the resort though they are rare. There is also a hot tub which we did not use. You can also go to nearby Invermere and Panorama.
The Cedar is an old motel but is situated on main street Radium. The location is great for shops, restaurants and farmers market. We had a king bed and bathroom, which came with coffee maker, fridge and AC. The room was a little musty smelling but the bed was clean and comfortable. The fridge in our room was OK except it was more of a freezer. We liked the fact we could use the amenities at the sister hotel the Prestige at no extra cost.
Slept very well at this tastefully renovated family owned motel just off the main road in Radium Hot Springs - which is often hard to do during a major heat wave. The AC did its job and the bed was very comfortable. There was a large screen television (squeezed into one corner) and the wifi worked just fine. A light breakfast was provided in a room above the reception area. It was very much a DIY affair, but we were grateful because there was a long line at the nearby coffee shop. The Inn has a small BBQ area out front with shaded seating. It is biker friendly motel. There are stairs leading to most of the rooms - and I didn't see a ramp option. We like to support locally run businesses and, if you are of that persuasion, I would recommend this place. I believe they were totally full the night we were there.
