After reading reviews I didn’t expect much but was pleasantly surprised. The park is being revamped slowly and offers good facilities but could get better: 1. Great new amenity block but having a 2 minute timer on the light switch is a PITA, maybe look at a movement sensor with 5 minute timeout? 2. New showers are OK but lack clothes hooks (have 1) and also lack a place to put shampoo etc. BBQ area is nice but not a great alternative to a camp kitchen with an oven and good washing up facilities. New cabins look nice, garden landscaping is great. Yes there are a few permanents but why wouldn’t there be, there is a housing crisis and they have a solid roof, and certainly didn’t detract from my stay, in fact I reckon having some constant eyes on the park is a good thing. Overall a good stay, no real issues although park could do with better lighting.
The worst accommodation I have stayed in for a long time. Swimming pool is half empty and yes I understand it is winter but it looks derelict. Went to plug in the kettle in my room and almost electrocuted myself. Went to reception to report to be told ”oh yes it's been broken for a week”, when I proceeded to ask if she had informed my husband of this as he had checked in she said ”No” ... REALLY super dangerous. 2 coffee cups and 2 teaspoons supplied only, not even a glass for drinking water. Cheapo wobbly table with 2 slatted uncomfortable chairs. Springy thin mattress, thank heavens we only had to endure one night on it. Stairs outside our room were wobbly, with loose carpet tiles at the top of them (hmmm another safety issue!) and creaked as anyone ascended or descended. Carpet in the room stank of wet dog. Staff were smug that they were ”fully booked” I am guessing that this was because the Nambour Garden Show was on at this time as why else would you ever stay here???? For $130 there are SO many better accommodations I have stayed in. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
The food was delicious,$13.90 for chicken snitzel, salad and chips The can of come was a shock at $5.50. The place needs TLC,there was a bucket on the floor due to the roof leaking, the carpet looks ancient. Sunday there is a $ 15 steak chips and salad,I'm going to try that. Parking is limited, but there is a parking building behind Supercheap. Well worth a visit.
NO COOKING FACILITY! NO HEATING ELEMENT OR MICROWAVE, yet they have plates and forks and knives? They want you to eat downstairs but that food is way overpriced. Ended up going elsewhere for food. They do require a large deposit/bond prior to stay. Completely self service hotel. Automated check in and check out. The place is also too expensive. I understand it is a very new hotel but lets be honest, the view aren't anything special. It is only three stories high with the rooms being on the top level. Parking is also extremely hard to find as the complex has three different car parks, not enough signage when I was there last year. It was well cleaned and everything was in working order but I was not impressed with no way to cook or heat up food. Say popcorn for my movie, yeah nah. There is only about seven rooms approximately and that is good, very soundproof rooms too.
