PPriiscillaHonestly the most beautiful and the best hotel experience I’ve had in China! The hotel is situated in the gorgeous Mingshi village and our stay at Mingshi Yaju gave us complimentary access to the paid scenic area. The hotel is also conveniently 30 minutes from the main attraction - Detian Waterfall. Our stay included delicious breakfast, daily fruits and desserts, complimentary bamboo raft and cycling experience. They also have gym, pool and shuttle amenities. The staff there were extremely friendly and helpful! Sincerely want to thank Miss Zhou (周小姐)for making our stay so amazing.
Highly recommend staying here!
LLee Hui TengLove at first sight. The view from our rooms was beautiful. The rooms were tastefully furnished. The beds were very comfortable. Clean sheets and towels. Modern amenities. The automatic toilet bowl was amazing. I wished I had one at home in Malaysia. We enjoyed the breakfasts. I am good with the healthy options and free flow of soy milk. I suggest using the ceramic bowl for the hot soy milk instead of the plastic bowls provided. Do bring your own hot water flask. Hot water dispenser available. We had all our meals in the hotel. The food was delicious. Do try the free range chicken with mushroom soup. Very comforting. Our morning walk in the village was lovely. Plenty of vegetable farms. Mr. Wei, the manager was very attentive and friendly. He offered to ferry us to Detian waterfalls for a fee as there were no taxi or e-hailing. Overall, we had a pleasant and wonderful two day stay. Highly recommended.
PS. Do close the two small windows behind the curtains for better noise insulation.
EEatPrayTravelLocation of hotel is very convenient for travelers who take the tourist bus from either Chungzuo, Nanning or from Detian waterfalls scenic area. The room we booked had a nice view of the fields and karst mountains. What a beautiful sight to behold indeed. During the day, it can get noisy with all the comings and goings in the village and all around but at night, it was very quiet. The rooftop terrace was very nice and not busy when we were there. Breakfast was enjoyable with steamed buns, corn, soup noodles and boiled sweet potatoes- a healthy start for a very busy day. The very nice lady in charge of breakfast offered us breakfast on our check in day (we arrived at 10:30) and made sure we had enough to eat before sending us off to explore! We had never met a B&B operator who was so caring and generous. On our check out day, even though she was still busy with guests, she rushed out to bid us a fond farewell and a safe onward trip. Front desk and cleaning team were all very friendly, always smiling and helpful. All in all, a very warm and pleasant stay at Mingshi Scenic Area.
EE. Ch.I stayed one night in October 2024 and was very pleasantly surprised. Better than expected in all regards.
The reception desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. A little bit of English could be spoken.
Public transportation to downtown is next to the hotel (route 4 and 7). The route 8 stop is a 5 minutes walk.
I did not eat breakfast nor did I eat outside so I cannot tell about the food offering. That part of the city is a bit remote so nothing fancy. The stone forest park and the museum are very close.
The room I had (702 on the 7th floor) was large and very quiet. As noted by other reviewers it is a bit old but all was in good condition and working. The air conditioning system was efficient and silent.
No fridge available. Good bathroom and good shower. Comfy bed (to my taste). I had a very good sleep which, in my case, is quite rare.
I would not hesitate to come back as it exceeded my expectations based on rather average reviews and an unexpensive price.
MMarcelKAmazing hotel! It really is more like a resort with a lot of things to discover. Unfortunately, probably due to the current pandemic situation, not everything has been in operation. You got a little nice bar for the occasional long-nighter 😅 there and a restaurant with a huge menu of different meals. The restaurant service has been unbelievable quick to serve the fresh cooked dishes. The hotel itself has been quite clean and the service staff always been helpful. Do not expect anyone speaking English thou. The whole surrounding is taken care of with visible passion and still you feel like in the middle of the jungle. If you got some time to spare, walk around the little village outside the hotel and try to find the small beautiful almost historic part of it, still being actively lived in by the locals. Just please always be respectful and cautious not to disturb them in any way.
FYI: if you arrive there by bus from from Nanning (南宁) to DaXin (大新) (the ride itself is absolutely worth it), there are local drivers Infront of the bus station who know how to get to the hotel. Just make sure not to pay more then 250 RMB. Also make sure all your health codes, passports, visas, etc are all in order and quickly handy. After all it is a border region and the are a lot of checkpoints to pass through. That's no time to mess up anything.
