It was not the quality of the Comfort Suites that we usually stay at. We checked in and were sent to a room on the third floor at the back of the hotel. When we got there there was a cleaning cart outside and the door was propped open. We walked in and sat our bags down. There was a spray bottle and rag on the furniture. My husband started calling the front desk when the housekeeper walked in. She was pretty rude and said ”I'm not done with this room.” We explained that the front desk sent us there. She then told me to remove our luggage so she could clean the area for another guest! We went back to the front desk to get another room. With the housekeeper telling other housekeepers that the front desk had done it again as loudly as she could! The front desk person gave us another room right across the hall from the 1st one so off we went again. I have to admit that the second room was clean. The bathroom was pretty good with a large shower. One of the parts of the grab bar had fallen down and needed to be replaced. Each time we went into the hallway the housekeepers were blocking the hall with their carts and conversations. They didn't seem to care that guests were trying to get to the elevator. We will continue to stay at Comfort Suites but don't think we will come back to this one,
Would not recommend this hotel for families (anyone, really). Our experience here was a NIGHTMARE. Management is poorly trained and rude to customers as well as their own staff. I felt unsafe in the environment the managers created through their aggressive and threatening body language and verbal confrontations with hotel guests. It was an incredibly unpleasant and stressful weekend . Customers are not permitted in the lobby after 11pm; the manager sends them to their rooms. Yes, even adult guests. Expect to be clearly informed that the alternative will be eviction. How’s that for hospitality? On the second night of our stay there was a fire alarm. Again management demonstrated their poor training and interpersonal skills. It was clear they had no plan to support the safety of guests during the emergency. Manager Rob and Manager Joel were anything but calm and orderly, and instead screamed at guests streaming out of the lobby exit that they needed to get out of the way. No, I didn’t write this incorrectly. They were screaming for guests to get out of the way. Apparently no concern for whether guests were inside the building or not, or for keeping people safe. They even yelled at kids who had evacuated from the pool and were soaking wet, ordering them out into the 30 degree night with no towels. (A kind staff member later brought towels. Thank you, Stephanie). After the building was cleared by the fire department (false alarm) Manager Rob and Manager Joel then yelled at all guests who had returned to the lobby that the pool, bar and entire lobby was CLOSED for the night. All (PAYING!) guests were sent to our rooms at 9:45!!! Really there are so many other hotel options in the area that there is no reason to choose this one.
Had a wonderful stay at Courtyard Marriott. Jermaine and Lauren did an exceptional job of valet. Making sure my vehicle was taken care of . They made sure my vehicle was moved in a timely manner. They made sure to open my door so I could put my luggage within my vehicle
Up to the usual (low) standard I often see at an HGI. This one was last cleaned properly before COVID and the main issue is staffing. The receptionist was the rudest, most disinterested person I've had the displeasure of interacting with. The whole interaction just left me shaking my head as to how someone with such poor interpersonal skills could end up in this customer-facing position... The room itself was tired, dirty and depressing. It was a suite, but the main room was a huge space with a single sofa shoved in the corner. The bed was very worn, with a big impression in the space where 1000's of bodies have been before. The shower was a walk in that left a huge pool of water on the floor and the water took ages to run warm. Breakfast was another example of where cost-cutting is king. There was one server and one cook, and it took 30 minutes to get an omelette . I don't blame the server, she was running around like crazy, there just weren't enough staff for the volume of people at breakfast. There was also a very poor selection of fruit, yogurt etc. Just minimal effort. Overall a very disheartening stay. I won't be coming back!
Hilton honors member and this will probably be my first and last stay at Tru. We were only there for a night but definitely used to better. We weren’t allowed to check in 20 mins early. Receptionist said there were no clean rooms-weren’t buying it but ok whatever we waited. Then later, arrived back from an event at 12:40 and my digital key didn’t work. I guess the night receptionist was napping because I spent 15 minutes buzzing, banging, and calling the desk before she got off the sofa to let me into the hotel.
I made a reservation and held it with my credit card one week before my arrival date. On the day of arrival, while enroute, I received a phone call from the front desk telling me that they had to cancell my reservation due to overbooking the hotel. The front desk clerk did let me know that there where other hotels close by if I was interested. I asked to have the names of the properties emailed to me. Instead, I received an email showing that I made a late cancellation which comes with a cancellation fee. The hotel manager was kind enough to waive the fee but made no attempt to find me a room. Every staff person that I had spoken with had a very clear ”Could Care Less” attitude. I did manage to get a room through Hilton Honors, which I have been a loyal member for over 25 years. Although, their attitude was about the same as the Hampton Inn in regards to the issue. So, if your travels require you to have a guarantied room, do not make a reservation with this hotel, and think twice about making one with any Hilton property. I do not think that Hilton fully understands the power of a network of a respected person attending a business meeting with 150 other travelers. Many will not stay here again.
DDina AWorst hotel stay ever. Booked 2 rooms, paid $1500. This hotel is no way a 3-star one. It’s dirty everywhere. Furniture in the lobby are leather-like material, and they are very dirty, clearly rarely cleaned or wiped. We booked rooms with free breakfast and the table where we had to sit to wait and eat was dirty, we had to call someone to wipe it clean, and even then she didn’t do a good job. We stayed from Saturday to Wednesday and not one single time the housekeeper stepped foot in our rooms to clean, despite seeing a housekeeper roaming around the hallway with her cart. We were told full cleaning day was Tuesday and was asked if we wanted our room cleaned; we answered “yes” but the housekeeper never showed up, not even to replace towels and rags. We only had clean towels on the first night. The second day, housekeeper removed dirty towels from room, left them outside the door, and never came back to pick them up. When we returned to the room after a full day of activities, we were greeted by dirty towels by our door. We were told someone was coming to pick them up, that someone never showed. This happened again. We had to go to the front desk to get clean towels and toilet paper. Our trash accumulated and we had to take them out ourselves for fear of being charged extra for leaving the room dirty, even if their housekeeping service should be taking care of that. You never know. Room doesn’t come with an iron but a steamer that is very inconvenient to use. We are working on getting refunded for our stay as we didn’t receive anything for the amount we paid. I understand being short-staffed but to charge guests $1500 and no service except for a mediocre bed to sleep on… imagine having to get your own towels and toilet paper from the front desk. When we checked out, the front desk asked us about our stay. We told her all of this. She said she was sorry, and was visibly embarrassed. She said she would have done anything about it but we have to go through Priceline to make things right as we booked our stay on their site. Went through Priceline and were told to go back and contact the hotel as it is a hotel issue. A total rip-off.
AAngela YVery clean hotel .And front desk people were very friendly and after checking in remembered my name and spoke anytime I went thru the lobby .A+ hotel amd highly recommended them next time you are in the area.
I rented two rooms for family for my daughter’s wedding. I recommended the hotel to other friends for the wedding as well because I’ve always had good luck with Homewood Suites. This is nothing like them at all. The rooms were dirty and when my mother checked in the next day after we arrived the room was not only dirty but the bathroom was atrocious. She found dirty rags, used panties and nothing had been touched in that room. I went down and complained immediately and asked for a room change and they couldn’t do it because they were at capacity and didn’t have any rooms available….ok I get it. I asked for somebody to go clean the room. The “engineer” went in removed the items to include the shower curtain and replaced it that was it. I asked them to do a deep clean the next morning when their staff arrived. They didn’t even touch the room…the whole stay through Monday! This was the dirtiest Hilton I’ve stayed at and I have stayed at a lot of them for business and pleasure. So much so that I’m a Diamond Member with over 800k points. Now I know this is not all Hiltons but where is the courtesy of doing the business in which you operate…hospitality! It didn’t feel very hospitable and won’t stay at that hotel again. If you’re looking for a hotel to stay think about using something other than this. I still have not received any response back when I made my complaints and doubt they even care about their customers to respond when it’s necessary. Good luck and hope you enjoy your stay elsewhere!!
Very bad experience. We (my wife and 12 month old son) checked in around 9:30 pm on a Saturday. There was only one person working the desk. Luckily, check-in wasn't too bad since we already had a reservation and I'm a longtime IHG member. As soon as we got to our room and opened the door; the room had a very strong cigarette smoke odor. We went back downstairs and asked if we can get another room due to the smoke odor. The person working the front desk, accommodated and gave us the room immediately below the initial one. As soon, as we walked in; that room, too, had a very strong cigarette smoke odor. We then went back down and complained and asked if we can get a different room that is not directly adjacent to those rooms. He looked in the system and unfortunately there were no rooms left. He offered to give us spray to help remove the odor. I declined due to health concerns it may cause especially with a baby, and asked for a refund as we will find another place to stay. He called his manager and it was approved. I asked for a receipt and at first he didn't want to give me one, but eventually he printed 2 copies for me. Here's the kicker. As we were in the lobby looking for another hotel we noticed the line was very long. There were kids who came from the pool and asked the front desk worker if they can get 2 more towels as they were dripping. He told them to wait. They waited for about 5-7 minutes as he was still working another issue. And then, there was another guest who was very angry and complained and yelled about bed bugs and kept asking the front desk worker to cancel the remainder of her reservation and ask for a printed receipt but the worker refused to give her one. The other guests in line asked the guy why he couldn't just print off a receipt for her and he just refused to do so. There was a lot of yelling and curse words, and my baby son was watching and listening while we were booking another hotel. One couple came up to us asked us why we were leaving and we told them why and I believe they eventually followed suit. It was just a bad experience and it being pretty late on a Saturday night didn't help as we just wanted to get rest.
GGinnie WThe clerks were polite and competent. The room was clean. We paid top dollar for a bare-bones experience. There weren't any travel sized shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. They had an unknown brand of particularly harsh product in pump bottles permanently affixed to the shower wall that left my skin dry. The door wasn't tight; it let light in around the perimeter. The shower door wasn't hung correctly, and rolled open until we stuffed a washcloth in to keep it closed. Breakfast was available, but not free. There's plenty of competition nearby, so I'll stay elsewhere next time.
