Stayed in suite with sea view. The view was amazing. The room was lovely, bed super comfy. There was a nice vanity table to get ready at. Bathroom was big and clean. The service at reception were very helpful. The location was great right in old town but not too noisy - music from restaurant in evening but I liked it and church bells on Sunday. I really enjoyed my stay here and was very happy with the suite. Couple of things to point out: there was no furniture on the balconies and aside from a pouf, no furniture in room to move outside. So meant nothing to sit on to enjoy balcony and it’s view. Also the curtain was only half curtain so to block out light need to shut the shutters which then restricts air. I didn’t mind but if you want darkness to sleep might need to bring eye mask. Like I said only minor things. Overall great place. Hot water - i mention as I know this is important to people :)
Every hotel staff was smiley, friendly and helpful. We received welcome snacks snd message in the room. The room was modern with air condition, high ceiling and nice amenities. Breakfast was buffet-style as and adequate. Location is very close to many shops and restaurants but without the noise. I enjoyed the deep tissue massage at their spa.
Enhancement areas suggested for Room 11: shower door does not close; the queen bed was two separate single beds put together instead of one mattress, and with separate bedcover sheets instead of one queen sized bedcover sheet; a kettle would have been useful.
Our second overnight stay at this hotel. Staff are lovely; helpful and friendly. The rooms are gorgeous and the food very good. Rooms are nice and quiet and quiet. We were given a room by the lift this time, which worried me as the 'voice' telling you the floor number is quite loud, but it wasn't a problem at all. We will no doubt stay many more times.
This is our third time at the Royal Sun and we just love going back to stay - it really is home from home. Like many of the reviews, the management and staff really make the stay so memorable. I have to give so much credit to Stefania and her wonderful team - from Eva, Emma and Maria on front desk right up to the fantastic super friendly restaurant team including Manta, Maria, Konstantina, Joanne and Harris. Sorry if I’ve left anybody out, but really they are all a wonderful bunch of people. Let’s not forget the housekeeping team too who are such a lovely friendly bunch and do a wonderful job keeping the rooms immaculate. The hotel is always super clean, the beds so comfy and the views - of course- stunning. We love the food in the restaurant at lunchtime too - so tasty with all fresh ingredients. You won’t find a hotel experience like this in Chania. It really is the town’s best kept secret. Needless to say, like so many people who come here, we will absolutely be back again. I cannot wait for next year, and thanks again for such a memorable stay.

IIndia DBCute, cuter, cutest. Elia is the cutest. The sheets were comfy, the bed stiff yet plush. My wife enjoyed the balcony although the view was slightly over mediocre. The free, fresh cookies and eggs were a nice touch. The fridge did make brown noise but really, at the end of the day, I think it helped us sleep better (even though we had to wake up at 4:30am to catch our local bus to Heraklion to make our 9am Blue ferry—but this was delayed too). Good thing we remembered to leave our keys in the room.
If you need a traditional hotel with a lobby, restaurant & etc, this isn't for you. However, if you are looking to try something unique and stay in a once-in-a-lifetime kind of place, then this is for you. The location is right in the middle of the old town/port area and is set into an old Monastery ruin. Right now the hotel is only using 3 rooms at the moment but from what I have seen online from the prior management's use, there are more areas to be reopened. Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated. The glass floor looking down at an old staircase and the balcony overlooking the square below were bonuses.
ผผู้เข้าพักStayed in a female only dorm. Food is nice, low cost. Facilities are very clean. Staff extremely helpful. This is a very calm hostel. Lovely pool. Not all rooms have air con. No one tells you if balcony doors or windows are open- the air con switches off. Towel rental is €3. Only thing I can fault is they are very strict in no socialising in communal areas after 11pm- but for some people thar might be a positive
ААнастасія ГлавацькаToday, I have landed back home after spending amazing week at this family-run hotel. I can definitely tell you that it was one of the best holidays I have ever had, filled with nice people and great Greek weather. The hotel is located very conveniently, you have a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Lidl is just 5-7 min walk. Next to the hotel there was a great coffee shop- Move on. Next to the hotel there is a bus stop which will take you to Chania city centre for a nice promenade and a delicious dinner. Hotel itself is of an apartment style with amazing pool which was always well-maintained and clean. Every day the girls made sure that our room is clean and we have new towels, and they were making quite impressive compositions from flowers and towels😁 The manager of the hotel was extremely friendly and always dealt efficiently with any requests we had. Breakfast was delicious and overall our stay was extremely enjoyable. Definitely visit this hotel to feel the amazing Greek hospitality.
ผผู้เข้าพักThis is a tiny boutique hotel with actually relatively large rooms . There is NO parking as you can’t drive into the city centre, so you will have to call ahead and they will send someone to drag your luggage all the way to the hotel . The place has a history as it was a house of an aristocratic Turks during the ottoman ruling . The rooms are modern and extremely comfortable , wide , the service is great . It is very close to everything you need , the city centre, the boats , the market etc… I will definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay here next time we come back to Crete .
CCoryZhang777What I liked about Evans apartments is the decoration. it's a quiet cute stone apartment very close to the beach with many cafes and bars nearby. The host is very welcoming , the bed is comfortable there was an Illy coffee machine with two capsules and everything you may need in the kitchen. The shower was okay but the water got cold for the third person to shower. I did not like the fact that we wanted a separate one bedroom apartment but they air condition was only in the big room so we had to leave the door open for the third person to get some cold air. Also have in mind that the blinds don't block the sun. So if you have a problem with light getting in your sleep make sure you take your mask with you. In general I would stay there again if I wanted something near the center of Chania.
ผผู้เข้าพักYou’ll walk up 50 marble steps; elevators are forbidden in Old Town. You’ll have trouble finding taxis; streets are pedestrian-only. You’ll talk with Reception by phone and email. Your reward will be one of the most magical balconies in Greece, at the top of Chania’s Old Venetian Harbor. We booked the 4th floor One-Bedroom Suite at the Elia Estia Erato building of Elia Hotels and loved every minute. Elia Hotels Group has renovated historic buildings around Chania into over 20 boutique hotels and apartments. It’s not the Ritz, but you can get that in the US. In Greece, the glitches are worth it to experience Chania up close. Old Venetian Harbor doesn’t just glitter like a storybook–it is a storybook, with more history than anything Disney could imagine. On the stairway landing was a full set of knight's armor (photo). Our balcony had a panoramic view of colorful baroque buildings, dramatic fortresses, an historic mosque and the medieval lighthouse–all reflecting in the harbor at sunset and at night (photos, video). Below us around the harbor were two dozen fine seaside restaurants. In walking distance were huge 16th century monuments to explore and beaches with even more great restaurants. Mr. Antonis Yiakoumakis, Ms. Despina Liakou, and Ms. Maria at Elia Zampeliou Hotel Reception a few streets away (which was our Reception Desk), helped us so much! They showed why Crete is famous for hospitality–even when coping with historic buildings. Historic buildings, for example, don’t have a lot of furniture. There were no drawers for clothing, no place to put modern clam-shell luggage. But when we asked for a luggage stand, they somehow got a large extra table up 3 flights of stairs for us. When I needed smaller bills, Mr. Yiakoumakis personally took me and my 50 Euro bill door to door among local tavernas as waiters whizzed by with heavy trays, until we found a cashier with change. The ambiance was superb, the local food is fantastic, and most important, the people are wonderful. If you need anything, call or email; they answer quickly. When we asked for a few extra towels, we got a weeks’ worth. When the city tore up a nearby street, Ms. Despina personally escorted us to and from our building. Need something? Just ask! :)
Such a lovely little hotel in Chania town centre. The room was so comfy, and I had all I needed, including bathrobe, slippers, toiletries, fridge... super convenient. Also, I would book just for the breakfast. Such a great selection and quite delicious
