The place is located in a prime Carlton area where you can eat cuisine from different country every day..the place is safe and on until late night/ early morning..the place has a quirky decoration and has all amenities (in fact I liked how techenabled the rooms are). The rooms are very cleqn and are cleaned every day _ one day when it was accidently overlooked, the manager made a point to personally address the cleaning in evening when I returned to the room and brought this to his attention. Last but not the least, the coffee shop in the hotel is just great - you can have amazing coffee and brekkie b4 you start you day here. I would definitely be back to this place whn I m Melbourne,and would happily recommend this to others.

Front entrance welcomes you with a small Zen feel. The lobby is connected with the restaurant in an open floor space. Stayed in Standard King Room, was very spacious with small arm chair, desk, TV. The bathrooms are very modern with touch enabled mirrors.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay there. Would definitely book again
This is a nice Hotel, comfortable bed and a good range of pillows. Location was great as it is central and if you catch a tram up to the top of Lygon st you will find the shops. The room was nicely appointed although I didn't like the toilet behind a glass wall right next to the bed and it was quite dark, needs a good centre light in the main room. . We went to breakfast downstairs which was ok although the toast was very hard. French toast was quite nice but a little sweet. Coffee was good and staff were friendly. We stayed for 3 nights and I would expect at least provision for two cups of coffee per day in room along with sugar that would allow both guests to have 2x per cup. The cleaning staff were helpful in that regard.and topped us up. All in all it was a nice hotel , we were there to see our daughter before she heads overseas and were recommended the restaurant downstairs. Staff raved about it but it was very average in my opinion. Fatty meat, not good cuts, my steak was almost a minute steak. Quite pricy for what I got to be honest. Disappointing.

Very comfortable bed and well appointed room! Really enjoyed how quirky the hotel lobby was and breakfast available for purchase was good. The only disappointment was that no free water was available in the room. Most hotels provide this and it was an inconvenience that both myself and colleagues noticed.

My first review, back in February 2023, wasn't so positive, although, I spoke to the 'Lady of the House' and General Manager soon afterwards, to discuss what went wrong. This goes to prove that issues can and do get resolved at Zagame's House (ZH). Feedback counts here and changes are made for the better. This is my second review (albeit very delayed, due to personal reasons), as I wanted to give ZH another chance. And OMG, they did not let me down! The welcome at reception on this occasion was warm, inviting, friendly and heartfelt. This time round, it actually felt as though I had come 'back home'. And the personalised note in my room, that accompanied the Tim Tams did make me laugh. (Thanks Tanya!) This demonstrates that should guests return to Zagame's House; all employees do their upmost, to ensure your stay is personalised. To be honest, it felt like I was visiting an 'old friend'. The room I was allocated on this occasion was fantastic. I LOVED its location and it was super clean. The rooms are well stocked and feel like you're in a home away from home. (And yes, the theme of this stay was 'it felt like home!'). I had breakfast in their restaurant, 1851 Coffee + Kitchen, and the service this time was efficient and welcoming. The hot breakfast and coffee were sublime. Also, I got to try a dessert and some beautiful wines in Lord Lygon, the adjacent dining & bar eatery. All the employees I met were super friendly. On this occasion, Housekeeping did turn up when requested (Thanks Bronwyn), and my room was cleaned whenever I left the property. I also received great advice from the front desk on where to dine and visit in the local neighbourhood. I can't tell you how different (in a good way!), this stay was versus the first time back in February. In fact, there is no comparison. Often, products and facilities can and do differentiate one property from another in the very competitive hospitality space. However, it's 'service excellence' that really counts and impresses me. This stay answered my question as to whether I would go back and stay here again, and the answer is a resounding 'YES!". If you're looking for a luxury 'House' that makes home feel like 'a home', then stop searching and just hit the 'Check Availability' button to book. Also, (and online travel agents may disagree with my next observation), but you can, and often DO, get a much better deal when you book directly with Zagame's House. Last but by no means least, I do hope everyone at Zagame's House has a very happy, healthy and successful 2024.
