Hotel with some marks of the time, but continues in good shape. Rooms were clean. The breakfast is not a big offer, but it has quality and it's more than enough to eat well. The swimming pool is not very big, but most of the time was empty, so it was a great option. Although the hotel is not in the historical city center, it is not a big distance to it and can be easily done by foot. You have also a few big parks near, where you can go for a nice walk. Free car parking in the street was possible and easy. In a nutshell: Good option for a road trip. Definitely a 4 stars hotel, but not on a higher level.
We organized a two-week training for students from Uzbekistan at the University of Extremadura, and the hotel provided us with places for everyone. It was also very nice of them that they took into account some of our dietary restrictions (no pork meat) and tried their best to provide us with appropriate meals. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The location was convenient for us, as we needed the closest location to the University. Overall, very nice hotel and people.

A luxurious experience. Everything about this hotel was good. The location, near to main road but no sound from it. Near to Caceres in one direction and the countryside in the other. Lovely and helpful staff, excellent restaurant. Very comfortable rooms. Free use of the spa for 30 minutes made for a lovely stay. Also very near Portugal. Fully recommend
Six nights at the Don Carlos Hotel in Cáceres were delightful in every way. Lovely room with balcony and street view, clean, very comfortable bed, quiet. The public spaces are also very nice, with attention to detail to keep an essence of the past, with artwork and furnished spaces to sit. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the hotel. The location on a pedestrian street is wonderful, with many restaurants, shops, and cafes within a couple of minutes’ walk. It’s maybe a 7-to-10 minute stroll to the Plaza Mayor and the main gate to the World Heritage Monumental City, which is simply amazing. A key bright spot of the many was the staff of the Don Carlos who were friendly, helpful, professional, and accommodating. Their purpose really seemed to be that my stay be as best as possible and that I was happy with the hotel and the services. (I don’t tend to eat an earlier breakfast and didn’t reserve it so cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel’s services.) I booked directly with the hotel and that was easy to do. I would not stay anyplace else when in Cáceres, and it’s such a wonderful city (and province) that I plan to return time and again.
Nosotros, si volvemos a hacer ruta cacereña, repetiríamos!!!
