Tropical Casa Laguna

Tropical Casa Laguna is a very relaxing and beautiful hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated with woodgrain tile and comfortable beds, the pool area is huge and beautiful with a swim up bar, everything is extremely clean, there is a large on-sight parking lot, and it's centrally located in the heart of Cabarete. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, including the security guards at the front gate. It was a great stay!

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral im Ort Cabarete man kann alles gut zu Fuß erreichen, Cafés, Restaurant, Bars und den langen Sandstrand. Das Hotel hat zwei Pools und ein Whirlpool. Die Gartenanlage ist sehr gepflegt und man fühlt sich sehr wohl in der Anlage, es gibt genügend Liegestühle und Sonnenschirme um sich an der Poolanlage zu erholen. Die Zimmer sind sehr hell und freundlich eingerichtet das Bett ist sehr groß und man hat einen großen Schrank mit Spiegel im Zimmer. Es gibt eine Terrasse oder Balkon pro Zimmer. Im Bad gibt es immer warmes Wasser zum Duschen.

I am an honest man and do not like leaving negative reviews, but felt like everyone should be warned. This is not a three or four star hotel. As soon as we were checking in, we knew we were in trouble. We immediately asked for another room, but were denied. In subsequent in-person, communication and emails they claim that they tried to show us other rooms while present, but that we declined. That is an untruth. Upon arrival, they informed us that there may be no hot water on cloudy days! Further, they informed us upon check-in that the TV only had Netflix and YouTube. Worse, our TV didn’t even work. There were small bedside tables, but no place to lay luggage in the room, no table or desk. Room was was extremely small —and plain. The compound itself is nice enough, nice pool area—but the pictures to promote the resort are framed in such a way as to misrepresent. We tried negotiating with the management on multiple occasions, but they kept saying that we were free to try other rooms, but we had already moved and were in another contract. Claims there is direct beach access, but you do have to cross the road and walk for a bit. Not terrible, but I would not call it direct beach access. claim bilingual staff, which was not the case. We asked for a financial compromise of any sort—denied. We stayed one night (out of the14 reserved) and then left for the Velero Resort, which is just down the road. Very very nice. Highly recommend that resort. Character matters…so buyer beware.

The location was fantastic. The complex has everything you need, pool is well maintained.

We stayed for its central location. We were blessed by the staff. They were so very kind and helpful. Jose, the bartender, is now a dear friend. We visited for the culture and community…they delivered.

Staff was very courteous and willing to help. Currently under upgrade to add condos. This place has so much potential.

If there was hot water for showers this property would earn another star.

I was without television for the length of my stay. They told me that it was the provider that had the problem. However, there were other units that had service. I don’t believe I was given accurate information.
