We ended up unexpectedly extending our stay in Beaune and needed a hotel for a single night. Abbaye had good reviews and a reasonable price tag so we made a booking and I’m so glad we did. The staff was welcoming and made a special effort to have our room ready early for us. They assisted up the stairs with our luggage and toured us around the room. The room itself - we stayed in the Clos Vougeot suite on the 1st floor - was spacious and very quiet. The wifi worked well, the bed was deliciously comfortable and the rainforest shower head had excellent pressure. The hotel itself is quite charming and tucked away unobtrusively on a side street in central Beaune. As others have mentioned before us, the entrance is unassuming and can be initially missed and the infamous stairs are no joke but we took our time and were able to wrestle bags down on the way out. While we only enjoyed a brief stay, we’d happily return in the future for a longer visit.

A beautiful place, unique in its architecture and decor. It’s an old building that turned into a hotel . The hotel is in the center of Beaune close to all the shops and 10 minutes away from the vineyards. The staff are very friendly. Each room in the hotel is different. Very classic and historic, yet modern quality.
Warm welcome, we had booked for a early check-in but we were very early in the hotel. Everything was done to check- in at that time. Very kind. Beautiful room and bathroom. Delicious breakfast. Near to the old city of Beaune.
Beautiful hotel in an historic village. The front desk service is impeccable, as were the rooms. We had a lovely two night stay. I will say, the bar and dining options are pricey but, there are places you can go to in the village for options. It was wonderful to come back to a fire burning in the sitting area on chillier evenings. We would most definitely recommend a stay at this gem!
I am sorry to say absolutely shocking, this Alleged hotel should be far more open and honest, before advertising, the hotel is undergoing renovation, but nothing appears to be fully completed, it advertises parking space, but then adds an eight euro charge, The first room had a leaking air con unit, so we requested to be moved which was swiftly done, however whilst showering the shower door didn’t close to ensure water didn’t go all over the floor, then the shower rail adjuster and clamp was broken, a complete nonsense, my sting advice is stay away and avoid disappointment
Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Beaune but in easy walking distance of the town centre with all its attractions and to the train station. It can be difficult getting taxis in Beaune.Typical of this style of hotel our room (superior room) was a bit cramped especially as we were staying 7 nights and there was quite a bit of luggage .Very little hanging space for clothes. The bathroom was reasonably spacious. On our first night there was alot of noise from the patio area outside our room at 2-3 am ,the bar was closed but a group of young men were very noisy. We tried to contact reception but couldn't find the number. We reported this in the morning and it was obvious that others had disturbed sleep. After this first night it was quiet. It might be worth asking for a room that doesn't overlook the pool or patio area. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Provided me with ice to prevent bruising when I fell. The hotel was very clean Breakfast was adequate and there was a good supply of fresh fruit.I think this hotel is ideally suited for short stays or stop overs when travelling through France
I saw the great reviews here and the facility looked nice so I booked this hotel. I just got back from my stay and I am 100% sure that these reviews are fake so I want to warn others. We got to the hotel earlier than check in and our room wasn't ready which is absolutely no problem. We had planned to drop off our stuff and have lunch anyways. We get back at check in time and our room still isn't ready. They have had 3 hours notice at this point that we would be back at 3 after lunch. Then we head to the pool to wait for the room to be ready but I ask them to please let me know as soon as it is ready, as we have somewhere to be. An hour goes by and still nothing. At that point, I go back to check on things. Our room was ready, no one called us, or told us anything at all which was very frustrating. We probably would have been out there all day if I hadn't gone back to check. At this point we had to cancel our other plans because we didn't have enough time to shower and get there with the hour delay so we decide to nap. As soon as we start to nap there is an insanely loud alarm going off. This goes on for 20 minutes and the whole hotel has to evacuate. It ends up being a false alarm. I totally understand that things malfunction sometimes but the bigger issue was the staff. First off, at no point does anyone go around telling people that everything is fine, not to worry, or apologize for the inconvenience. The alarm just suddenly stops at some point. I expressed my frustration to reception between the check in process and the alarm going off but they literally did not care at all and barely gave me a sorry. At this point a normal hotel would have made some sort of commercial gesture - free breakfast, or at least try to pretend that they care at all, anything really. What's worse, I got the sense from their reactions that this alarm thing might be a regular occurrence as one of the staff muttered something that I should be grateful it wasn't at night. The next day we are going to see some wineries. We are leaving the hotel at 10:30 AM and the cleaning ladies are cleaning the room next door to us. We politely say hello and that we are leaving, we would like our room cleaned and that we would be back in the afternoon. We come back at 3:45 PM and the lady is in our room and just starting to clean it. I have no clue what she did from 10:30 AM - 3:45 PM as we were her next room to clean but I suspect she just did nothing. We are tired and just want to get in the room so we tell her it is no problem, she doesn't need to finish. We ask her to just refill the nespresso pods so that we can have coffee for the next morning. She says sure, leaves to go get them and never comes back. Another cleaning lady walks past the room and I ask her as well if we can get a refill. She says sure and that she would go grab some. Of course, she never comes back. Finally, I call the front desk. I express my disappointment again with the level of service and ask for coffee p
ผผู้เข้าพักThe hotel is fairly close to the train station and not too difficult of a walk if you do not have a car. They do have parking at the hotel which would be convenient if you do have a car. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the city walls where there are plenty of shops and cafes. If you do have trouble walking too much though keep that in mind. There really isn’t too much directly near the hotel for dinner, groceries, etc. We were only there for one night, so it didn’t bother us. The hotel is decorated in a simple lovely style and everything was clean. The gentleman who checked us in was nice and gave us a few recommendations on restaurants and things to do in the city. We did choose to pay for the breakfast at the hotel which was your standard French breakfast with some pastries, cheese, meat, yogurt, eggs, etc. It was good as well as the pot of coffee. There is no coffee maker in the room and no water that I’m aware of. I wanted a beer that evening, but unfortunately they had ran out. It’s a bit of an older building so the floors squeak and the walls aren’t super insulated so we could hear the neighboring rooms fairly easily, but thankfully everyone went to bed at a decent time and weren’t unruly. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it. There’s a pizza truck place we wanted to try as it received so many good ratings, but it was a bit of a walk without a car. We ended up getting a pizza at L’oriental since it was by the train station and closer.
Easy journey, great location. Met by reception who parked us, really excellent check in and a map given which was priceless that evening for dinner out. It's a lovely old hotel. The fact it's old doesn't mean anything needs to be shoddy though. Small windows, lots of dark, huge thick net curtains need changing to maximise light. Those coming what period features but want you to think how to make those work. No tea kettle or coffee machine? Not regional. Been to so many hotels in France who throw one in just to be helpful. Be fab to add them. Most don't want to wait till breakfast for their first drink of the day. In a £150 suite it was a shame to have nothing of that nature. Few other little things like really minimal tiny bath towels. Room 30 had no scope on adjusting the shower head so great water power but had to press into the taps to experience the jet. Other rooms do and have a great set up we understand that. It's quirky! It's clean, organised, tidy and friendly. Paying for parking as a overnight guest was a bit of a choker, but maybe there's a solid reason they have. Overnight stop over ..... adequate plus. hotel with obvious history, and I hear the breakfast that we didn't get time for and was extra, was very nice.
ผผู้เข้าพักLa chambre était exiguë.
ผผู้เข้าพักStayed here one night as a stopover, it was more than adequate for our needs for the night. Bar and reception staff were all very friendly, pool was great for our son. Its a 10 to 15 minutes walk to town. The only thing I'd say is the room is a little tired and the fridge in the room was unusable due to a terrible smell in it.
