Chose the hotel as it was in an excellent location for us as we love to travel. I wanted to see the Rhein again in Germany my son wanted Switzerland so the perfect compromise. Everything was great. The rooms were clean and spacious, staff on reception were helpful especially the male member of staff. Very polite and helpful even when very busy. I didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. There’s supermarkets/shopping centres/ buses and trams on the doorstep and the nicest views on the Rhein.

We just asked for refund and left. Life is short too for bad attitude in hotels that lie to customers about what they offer. Shame.
I had booked 3 rooms for myself and my family for 6 nights to visit the lovely city of Basel and the rest of Switzerland. Even though the country and city were beautiful there were a few things that were not acceptable. Firstly, I was disappointed that there were no complimentary water bottles in the rooms, unlike any other Marriott rooms I have stayed in. During our stay, Sarah was always kind enough to provide water bottles when asked which made our night. However when I asked for water again on our 3rd night via the Bonvoy App, someone very rudely rejected my request, as you can see in the below screenshot of the message from the app. It was not pleasant and made me feel very uncomfortable to ask for a bottle of water. Being a Platinum member I did not expect to be spoken to that way for a bottle of water. Secondly, on my last night, I spoke with Sarah regarding my F&B credit that I chose upon check-in and it was mentioned that I was entitled to 10CFH per person per room per night. I double checked if it could be accumulated and then used in one go and I was told I could, so I decided to have dinner with everyone on our last night. When I checked-out, a man who came from the restaurant and checked out my rooms, I confirmed with him if I could get my F&B credit applied and he said yes, he rushed my check out and went back to the restaurant. When I received my final invoice online a few hours later with only say 1 day's F&B credit applied and not all for the 6 nights I was led to believe I could have. I was told I could get 10CHF per person per room night which is 20 x 3= 60, 60 x 6 = 360 CHF F&B discount as per Sarah and that she would write notes on my reservation so that the discount could be applied. If you see my invoices attached below, only 20CHF was applied for the whole duration. Can you please apply the discount that I was verbally told and confirmed several times as I was ordering the food and as I was checking out and compensate/refund what was charged on my card? I am very upset that there was not cohesive communication between the receptionists, I was being given incorrect information every time I spoke to a different person at the Front Desk. Thirdly, I was only told by Sarah that my postcards would be sent complimentary as I asked how much it would cost, she mentioned it would be complimentary, yet I received a separate invoice for the postcards. I would not have minded paying however telling me it's free and then charging me is unfair and not truthful. Is it how Courtyard Basel treats all their guests? I would like to be compensated, if it was verbally spoken it would be, it should be free, not charged when I am not aware. Lastly, staying for 6 nights you'd expect the room to be cleaned not just tidied... however none of the water bottles that were finished and empty were removed from the room. for 3 consecutive nights, the empty water bottles were left in the room which by the time we left had accumulated into a pile o
ผผู้เข้าพักHotel is conveniently located less than five minutes’ walk (with luggage) from Basel SBB. We were greeted by a genuinely friendly receptionist, who informed us that we had been upgraded. Well, we arrived at the “room,” which turned out to be a suite with dining/conference area, two bathrooms, a soaking tub, and a panaromic view of the Basel skyline. The dining/living area and bedroom were separate, each with individually controlled A/C. The weather was actually very cool and pleasant for late June, so the A/C was sufficient. That said, if it had been hotter, I’m not sure if the A/C in the bedroom would have quite enough for me, but I’m an extremely picky customer when it comes to air conditioning. In general, Switzerland is a tough place if you need your room at 19 Celcius/69 Farenheit. The living room, though, was able to get very cold. The in-house dining and beverage options were fantastic. There’s a more formal restaurant on the mezzanine above the lobby, where I enjoyed a great meal that worked around my dietary restrictions. Downstairs, there’s a patio restaurant/cafe, and a stylish indoor bar with a midcentury Milanese aesthetic. Honestly, I was surprised it wasn’t busier, but that might have been because we were staying midweek, right after Art Basel. Overall, I very highly recommend. Probably best suited to business travel, but it didn’t feel impersonal, or lacking in personality or style. On the contrary, it was comfortable and contemporary, with a few modernist touches that elevated the look and feel of the property.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe location is great, close to the Old Town and only minutes on foot from Barfuesserplatz. Parking at Steinen is also within relatively reasonable distance. The service was great and the staff very friendly. The rooms are modern, and what we especially appreciated were the separated shower and toilet, although we did miss additional opportunities to hang bath towels. Our room was to the front of the building and therefore somewhat noisy due to the proximity of the tram line, but I guess that's the caveat of such a central location. For breakfast there are two options: The full buffet breakfast at the Teufelhof across the street, or the coffee shop on the ground floor of the SET Hotel itself. We opted for the latter and loved their croissants. The corridors felt a bit bland, dark and ”hospital-like”, as my wife put it. A bit of colour would give it a somewhat friendlier touch. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and think it's an ideal place to stay for exploring the city.
