Travelodge by Wyndham Barstow

Stayed for one night, and the room was very clean. Get what you pay for. Good location! Fridge and microwave available in room.

I'm working at Fort Irwin 3 days a week and need a clean, safe place to rest every night and while you can get a newer, fancier hotel in town or on Ft Irwin the price is double what this quaint Travelodge costs and the management staff Rocky (I'm not sure of the spelling) and her husband both couldn't be more friendly or helpful, very much appreciated. I stayed my first night yesterday after a nasty storm blew through town and I asked Rocky if I could use the pool, she said give me 10 minutes to have it cleaned. I went out and her husband was cleaning up all the sticks and leaves the storm left behind just so one person (me) could use it. By the way the pool was perfect, cool temperature and clean as could be. I'll be staying here a lot in the coming months and am really appreciative to have a clean place to rest.

Convenient, clean, comfortable. Restored my feelings for the Travelodge brand. Late night checkin was fast and easy.

We stopped over at this motel on a road trip on way to Los Angeles. Was a good size room with some furniture, comfortable bed, hot shower and working TV. Microwave and fridge in room. Lots of places to eat nearby. Good value for the price we paid.

We had a very good experience at travelodge. There are several places to eat around the hotel which was nice. Great water pressure in the bathrooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable and overall nice room.

We booked our room through Chase travel portal. They utilize *******. In the listing through the website the hotel mentioned that "Service animals are exempt from fees". Yet when my family and our service animal arrived, the first thing the front counter employee asked was, "How much does your dog weigh?" to which I responded "60lbs?" Her reply, "the website says that only animals under 30lb are allowed." I informed her that our animal was an ADA approved service animal. That we read the requirements their website listed, and we met those requirements. She went on to say the room is on the second floor...its a 100 dollar deposit...the big dogs shed too much fur and its hard to get it cleaned up".. I told the front desk that we would be staying only 1 night as a pass through, the second floor was fine, and that a 100 room deposit was fine and understandable. She just said that they had to cancel our reservation and there was nothing she could do about it. I had to contact Chase and get them to cancel the reservation, which they did because Chase is amazing. The Chase booking agent then reviewed the policies and rules on the website and no where did it show that service animals had a weight restriction. I was still in the lobby when Chase contacted the lady and she responded that the weight restriction was 15lb to 25lb. Couldn't even get her own story straight. THEN went on to say it was because I refused to pay the deposit. It was easier just to agree to cancel than to deal with this unaccommodating hotel staff. I would not recommend as this hotel does not want to accommodate paying customers. It took 5 minutes to get a room that accepted our family of 3 with our service animal at Best Western just down the street.

I will not stay at this hotel again. I stayed at this hotel for three consecutive nights, but was treated as if I was a vagrant. I could not use the lobby area to wait for friend who lives in Barstow who was picking me up. The rooms have seen better days, the carpets are stained, the bath/sink features are worn and the rooms are noisy from trains passing throughout the night, constant train from the main corridor, and other guests (upstairs) noise. The positives are that there are a few restaurants in the area including McDonalds, Just Grill It next door, Tom’s Restaurant across the street, and a Chevron gas station next door, which is very expensive. Overall, not a pleasant stay and I will not return to this mediocre hotel.
