Excellent hotel with beautiful grounds and amenities. The room we had was stately and clean. Service was also excellent and the staff were friendly, like a family run hotel with good hospitality. The views were amazing!
Didn't pay any attention to where it was located, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found it to be inside the tower and walls.
There was also free parking not too far away. Would have been closer, but it was closed as there was an event being set up for the weekend.
Restaurant was good and there was a spa but the water could have been way warmer.
The hotel has a beautiful facade and is very close to the Roman arena, museums and restaurants. The breakfast is great, the interior is very new and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Most speak good English.
For a 5 star hotel and the price paid, I expected the room to be larger and a bit higher spec. However the beds were really comfortable. I didn’t expect to be questioned when I asked for extra coffee for the room or for the magnifying mirror in the bathroom to be hanging off the wall. Also disappointing was the chipped coffee cup we had at breakfast, though the food was first class, plentiful and varied.
It’s a shame it is difficult to access by car and that parking is some distance away but then Nîmes is an ancient city with many narrow one way streets.
All in all, we had a great stay and would recommend it to friends.
