The hotel has a potential to be a perfect hotel, with an excellent location, and in general a very good service, apart from the housekeeping, that first day they did not clean the room, and then they replaced the bed sheet, and we found out that they have put an ugly stained bed sheet... This should not happen in any respectful hotel. Pay more attention !

On the positive side, the location is great—very close to the beach (although the beach itself isn’t the cleanest). The room was spacious—we booked the Studio 40—and it felt comfortable for our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, especially the team at the restaurant. Service here really stood out. The coffee was also excellent, as they use Expat beans. There are a couple of things that could be improved. The foyer floor in the room was quite slippery. We asked for it to be cleaned, but it remained slippery afterward. Also, the room table had sharp edges, which was a concern for us as our child bumped into it twice—something to be mindful of if you’re traveling with kids. Overall, we were happy with our stay, especially compared to another hotelS we stayed at afterward in Canggu. The service here made a big difference.

The room was amazing they even had roses in the room for our arrival. Every staff member was so friendly and helpful. Lovely staff we had lunch at the their indonesian restaurant really tasty plus their pizza was probably one of the best wood fire pizza we had. Pool view also nice and clean. Breakfast was great changes everyday with barista made coffee. Definitely will be coming back next time thank you

Great service, rooms very well designed and perfectly clean, good breakfast but somewhat limited options, rooftop pool ok for solo older travellers but no great for kids

Good breakfast and near the beach. Nearby got a lot restaurant and spa too.

They had pretty good staff, the breakfast was delightful, the facilities were great, the room was lovely, location was perfect and it was very clean. Good choice

Located in the heart of Sanur. Everything is close by - beach walking distance. Loads of eating options. The staff were wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. Love the weird deco gallery around the lobby. We would stay again. The thing that stops it from being 5 star (for me) is the lack of a gym. There is a roof top pool with wonderful views of the surrounding area.

The hotel is art inspired with tge rooms uniquely decorated, the style so engaging, loved the aesthetics. All the young staff are truly warm, caring and friendly. Cannot rate this place high enough

The Artotel is in a great location with numerous excellent restaurants and bars within a short walk from the hotel. The beach and boardwalk are also an easy walk away. Breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold dishes and excellent coffee (no decaf though).  The staff were super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was inviting.  Great value and would definitely recommend 

I recently stayed at ARTOTEL Sanur Bali, and overall the experience was mixed and did not match the “excellent” rating shown on booking platforms. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and highly present throughout the property. The rooftop pool is one of the best features — spacious, well designed, and ideal for a relaxed swim. Breakfast is decent, with a reasonable mix of sweet and savoury options, although the variety becomes repetitive after several days. However, several aspects suggest a lack of long-term maintenance and attention to detail. Some room fixtures felt worn, including minor but noticeable issues such as a toilet flush button that would occasionally get stuck. Around the property, there are visible signs of structural aging, particularly rusted metal railings and deteriorating exterior elements, which give the impression of low-quality materials combined with insufficient upkeep. At the same time, there seems to be a strong focus on visible cleanliness, with a large number of staff constantly cleaning common areas. While the hotel is always tidy, this sometimes feels like an emphasis on surface presentation rather than meaningful maintenance or repair work. The restaurant is quite expensive, with a limited menu and relatively small portions. Service can also feel overly fast and intrusive, with plates sometimes being cleared before guests have finished their meal. The hotel also offers a massage service, which is generally pleasant in concept, but the actual experience was disappointing due to the setup. The massage bed appeared improvised rather than professionally designed, and the face cradle was extremely uncomfortable, making the entire experience far from relaxing. Considering the relatively high price, this felt particularly underwhelming. While the hotel is marketed as a design and artistic property, it feels more like a stylish city hotel than a full resort experience. Although the beach is within walking distance, it is not a beachfront resort, which significantly changes the overall holiday experience. Guests still need to move around rather than enjoying an all-in-one seaside environment. In conclusion, while the stay was not bad, I found the hotel overpriced for what it offers. For a similar or slightly higher budget, I would personally prefer a beachfront resort. I would happily pay an extra 30–40 euros per day for a truly premium experience — not just a “premium-looking” one, but a genuine, fully immersive resort experience where everything feels cohesive, comfortable, and truly worth the price.
