A beautiful hotel right on the ocean with well appointed rooms. The amenities are very nice, with soaps and lotions from the spa, scenery and views to die for. Lots of gardens and pools, lazy river and a short pool slide. Beware: there is a “porterage fee” of $30 on check in AND check out to handle your luggage even if you don’t use it. Also good prices are outrageous, eg; eggs Benedict $62, breakfast buffet $51
Fun place in Poipu to stay. I have been to the Sheraton several times as Starwood Lifetime Titanium - but my sister is an owner at the Marriott, so we got to go there with her. I enjoyed the property a lot. It was a more peaceful experience. The landscaping was beautiful - there was a hammock I enjoyed just going and laying in to watch the clouds go by. The beach is great, and it's near the Poipu outer reef, so we also got a little swell. I brought my board with me from Florida and got a few good waves.
We recently stayed for a week at the Point at Poipu, traded in from Maui. We were in building nine (Had stayed in 7 previously) so had a view of the pool and ocean. We were left alone regarding upgrading our timeshare. The last time we were there the pool scene was serene, this time not so much. People have begun the towel gig to save the beach chair while they aren't there. Also some very rude patrons. On the weekends the pool was full of kiddos so was kind of hectic and chaotic. The bar had a small menu but everything you need when you don’t want to go out. The bartender was welcoming and gave us some good tips. We walked the beach walk almost daily and saw the turtles floating in front of our room morning and night. Kauai was relaxing. The complex is a bit outdated and it’s a long walk to some buildings but the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. The are doing a remodel from what we could tell. We always found a parking spot. The staff was polite and helpful. Would definitely come back for that amazing view!
