The room and hotel are very neat and clean. The large windows bring in a lot of light, and the bathroom is spacious with a nice walk-in shower with multiple functions. The only issue is the noise. You can hear your neighbors pulling the blinds up or down and using the bathroom. The hotel is on a busy intersection at the edge of campus, and the noise from the street is non-stop. One of the streets is made of brick, which seems to make it worse. If you're a heavy sleeper, or you can sleep with earplugs or don't mind a sleepless night, it's not a bad choice due to its walking distance to campus.
This Hotel/Conference Center is perfectly complements the ambience of the gorgeous Ohio University campus. The decor is elegant, with wallpaper murals of the campus, nods to regional history and beautiful color combinations in carpet, walls and furnishings. It has a classic look that does not need to be upgraded to the latest trends of bland, blah colors and metallic furniture! Guest rooms are comfortable and classy. All areas of the property are squeaky clean. The staff is professional and warm, and the location ideal. Cannot say enough good about my experience here.
The is the best Holiday Inn Express of 4 that we have stayed in in the last 6 weeks. Online booking was easy, then I called and requested a quiet room away from highway traffic and elevator. Ashley was very personable on the phone . The interior was clean and bright and welcoming. The clerk indicated we would be away from street traffic and elevator; Our room was very quiet where is was located. The bed was fantastic. Room was clean even looked fairly new renovation. Breakfast was very good, nice variety eggs were fluffy bacon crisp the sausage gravy as good as some chain restaurants the ladies taking care of the breakfast area were keeping food and coffee replenished and the counters clean. I spoke with Ashly as we were leaving and told her this was the best of 4 and less money and more value than upstate New York. The only con is that they allow dogs,
Enjoyed one night while in Athens. Hotel is modern and clean with a good location. You can access the beautiful biking/walking trail by going across the street and behind Kroger. Trail goes to campus and then downtown. Breakfast was above average and staff were nice. Gym very small.
In town for homecoming and college visit with our daughter. Arrival Observations: Upon our arrival, I noticed two local sheriff’s vehicles in the parking lot, which didn't raise any immediate concerns. However, later, I saw the coroner had arrived as well. It sparked my imagination, especially since I had friends checking in nearby rooms. I sincerely hope everything turned out alright. Guest of the Day Recognition: I was warmly welcomed at check-in and was thrilled to be recognized as the ”Guest of the Day.” While I appreciated the 1,000 HH points and the gift bag, I was a bit disappointed to find the card was blank and the gift bag contained only a small bag of “Funions.” While I valued the recognition, the gift felt somewhat underwhelming. Chair Incident: My husband encountered an unfortunate situation when he discovered urine pooled in the desk chair after sitting down. We reported this to the front desk, and they promptly replaced the chair, but there was no follow-up to check on our comfort or wellbeing. I do wonder about the thoroughness of housekeeping in inspecting such items. Shower Drain Issue: During my shower, I noticed the water wasn’t draining properly and was up to my ankles. I managed a temporary fix, but it was inconvenient. Conference Room Experience: On Saturday night, my friends rented a conference room for our group. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and while the hotel staff provided industrial fans, they were quite loud, making conversation difficult. It might be worth considering quieter alternatives, like box fans, for similar situations. Breakfast: On a positive note, I found the breakfast to be excellent, with plenty of food options and seating available. Overall, it was certainly an interesting stay. While I appreciate the efforts of your staff, I’m unsure if we will return to the Hampton Inn in the future.
