Borgo Cala Moresca brings us a very joyful experience. The private beach located in a wonderful view. The ecopark fulfills with mix of mountain goats and ships

The resort is at a fantastic location, with all rooms overlooking the bay. However, this resort is in desperate need of attention and modernisation. The rooms are old and worn out. The airco is old, extremely loud, and can really not be used during the night. The restaurant is extremely busy. People grabbing 'all you can eat' food, as if it is the last food on earth. Food is very average. Breakfast buffet was okay, apart from the fact that you had to stand in line for about 10 minutes for a coffee. The resort is built on a steep rock. Therefore not suitable for elderly or disabled people. This is nowhere written, so could come as an unpleasant surprise. Room was old and in need of renovation. Bathroom old, dripping watertap and broken shower rail. So, to summarize, nice location, but not worth a repeat.

A beautiful resort staffed by delightful young students, our favourite being Diego, the lifeguard, who rushed to assist my daughter after she was stung by a wasp while in the pool. The wasps were plentiful, and caused quite a lot of anxiety throughout our stay, not limited to my family. But neither the insects nor the precipitous stairs to and from…everywhere, were able to detract from a lovely holiday. I would, however, think before taking advice to go for lunch at La Palme restaurant on the other side of the resort, as we were treated like a group of second-rate citizens, virtually turned away by the jumped up teenager, manning the entrance like a bouncer, who insisted on €100 payment to even set foot in the door. Quite frankly, I don’t think we missed much. Another person to mention is Marco the front desk manager, who arranged an airport transfer by an excellent operator and tour guide, also Marco. I’m just sorry we didn’t meet this tour guide at the beginning of the holiday.

Such a beautiful location and the resort is stunning - it’s a bit dated, but if you’re going somewhere to sit and relax and look at an incredible view, it’s amazing. We had a lovely room with a gorgeous view all the way to the sea - Monte Turri restaurant for apero and dinner is very beautiful.

The 1 star reviews are correct and justified. Dirty hotel that is unloved and in much need of care and upkeep. Pools and pool areas filthy, sunbeds falling apart, housekeeping didn’t clean just made beds, common areas tired and bins weren’t emptied regularly. The pictures and videos are not representative of hotel or your experience at all. My three pics summarise the experience.

⚠️ I travel often and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The problems started before check-in. At the buffet we were clearly shown €25 per person, but when the bill came it was €30 each. Staff brushed it off, claiming the “new prices” were online. Reception couldn’t care less. When we finally checked in, I discovered the connecting rooms I paid for didn’t exist. Instead, we were placed in abandoned old rooms (332 & 333) with broken lights, a dead phone, and faulty wiring. Hours later we were moved, and the manager even admitted we were downgraded because we “looked young.” Absolutely ridiculous — you’re hotel workers, relax. You aren’t engineers or lawyers. Your job couldn’t be simpler: provide the rooms booked and the amenities you advertise. It isn’t complicated. The replacement rooms weren’t better. The air conditioners roar like diesel tractors, making sleep impossible. Parking is a nightmare, unmanaged and chaotic. Dinner at La Vela restaurant was just as bad. The hotel promotes its bars and restaurants as part of the resort, but when problems come up they suddenly claim they’re “private.” Yet every charge still shows as Arbatax Resort. La Vela was also crawling with rats, and we were served spigola instead of orata but charged the higher price anyway. For this, we paid €1,900 for 3 nights. The resort is stuck in the 1980s, full of ants and rats, and run with false advertising, excuses, and scams. Avoid this place. It is not a 4-star hotel — it is a tourist trap.

Terrible Experience – Unsafe, Misleading, and Completely Unacceptable Our stay at Arbatax Park Resort - Borgo Cala Moresca was, without question, one of the worst travel experiences we have ever had. The photos online are completely misleading — what you actually get is a tired, decaying property that feels abandoned and neglected. We arrived late in the evening to find no lighting at all on the way to our room — it felt like walking through the set of a horror movie. We had booked a Deluxe Seaview Family Room. What we got was unsafe, filthy, and nothing like what was advertised. The room had two broken windows, one of which our 5-year-old child could have easily fallen out of. From the farthest possible corner of one of those windows, you could just about glimpse a tiny sliver of sea — and apparently that’s what they consider a “seaview.” The room also had an overpowering smell, like something had been left to rot. There was a pipe from the AC hanging out near the front door, which barely opened. The adjoining room contained a hospital-style bed that looked like it belonged in a decades-old asylum — unsettling and completely out of place in what’s supposed to be a “deluxe” family room. To make matters worse, the manager, Nicoletta, was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of acknowledging the very real safety and cleanliness issues, she spoke to us as if we were imagining things, telling us to appreciate the “beauty” of the room. It was deeply unprofessional. We later discovered we weren’t alone — other guests were also complaining about the rooms, the dirt, and the overall poor condition of the resort. It looks like it hasn’t had any proper maintenance since it was bought in 1984. As for the half-board dinner — it was bland, unappealing, and served in a setting more like an institutional canteen than a resort restaurant. The staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. This resort is unsafe for children, poorly maintained, and falsely advertised. It ruined the final part of what had been a wonderful trip elsewhere in Sardinia. If you value safety, cleanliness, and honesty — avoid this place entirely.

Beautiful location, excellent and accommodating staff. Manager Marco and housekeeper Laura were exceptional. Our stay was made most memorable by the nightly singing of the duo Cris and Olga. The quality and breadth of their performances enhanced our holiday immensely. The food and the accommodation were good but not perfect - 3* not 4*

There were so many little disappointments: the coffee machine at the beach bar not working one day, no milk to make cappuccinos at the other beach bar another day, no tomato sauce to make pizzas at the on-site pizzeria the next day. There was not a single socket in the conference room and reception area. This could be solved somehow, for example by organising an extension cord, but the promised technician never showed up. there was no internet and reception in our room. The staff locked the table tennis table in a storage room so we could not use it. When we asked why, they said they were closing for the winter, but the hotel was still open and we were guests there. The breakfast was the same for all ten days of our stay. There was a 15 minute queue for coffee every day. The on-site restaurants were overpriced. The children's entertainment was poorly prepared. My son said after an hour that it was boring and did not want to participate. Also, there were no other children who wanted to join the activities. When we asked about archery activities (which they advertised), the staff said 'not available'. In general, we felt that nobody at the hotel cared about the wellbeing of the guests. However, I must admit that the spa service (extra charge) was of a high standard and the cleaning of the rooms was impeccable. Also the beaches, the botanical garden, the scenic trail were absolutely wonderful.
