We're driving around the The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and anyone who has done this will appreciate parking is an issue. We booked this hotel at the last minute - accommodation has started to become a little more in demand - so finding a place was difficult. Parking is out the front of the hotel and is free. We arrived and we were greeted by Anduela who was wonderful and very helpful, she explained we just need to jump on a tram (again directly out the front of the hotel) No.1 to Opera and we are in the middle of Antwerp. She was able to sell us a ticket for the tram/bus/train (it's all the same). The surrounding hotel area is not inviting, and the hotel is basic, but these things outweigh the convenience of access to Antwerp. Anduela was a joy.

My stay in this modern hotel was good. The check in was smooth. As the rooms are equipped with a system of electronic cards, it can be a bit complicated if your card isn’t activated (that was my case). The lift doesn’t move if your card isn’t activated. The room was standard, with a modern shower. Consider that the room isn’t cleaned every day. In my case, a 2-night stay, the room was cleaned at all. The releasing of “preserving the environment” is a bit too easy. The hotel saves a lot of money, but the price remains the same :-( Breakfast was good, either a variety of continental food.

We LOVED this hotel, and wish we’d been able to stay much longer. The staff was extremely helpful, the room was lovely, but oh, oh, oh, the private terrace was HEAVEN! After negotiating stairs for the past two weeks to our rooms at various inns and hotels across Belgium, my husband could finally relax and not worry about tumbling down a staircase. There was only one step down to the room area. The front desk personnel were cheerful, knowledgeable, and very responsive to our needs. Breakfast was delicious and there was a lot to choose from. Best of all, it is super quiet here, even though the hotel is literally one street over from Grote Markt and all the attractions in the Old Town. We packed in a lot of sight-seeing, museums, and even visited the Diamond District before we had to leave. We would highly recommend Hotel Rubens.

What can I say this hotel is truly special! Some of the best service I've experienced. from the welcoming reception to the complementary mini bar they do all the little things right. I had a classic room that overlooked the charming courtyard. It was quite large with high ceilings for the most basic room. every room has a unique style and mine fit me perfectly. The 2 Australian sisters who run the hotel could not be more friendly. Location is just far enough off Cathedral and Grote market to be peaceful but close enough to be there in a few minutes walk. El hotel esta muy céntrico todo queda prácticamente andando, a 4 minutos de la central de trenes de Amberes, justo fuera del hotel esta la estación del autobus Flixbus que lleva y trae del aeropuerto, el centro de la ciudad está a tiro de piedra, justo en la esquina esta una tienda Jumbo con precios accesibles, las habitaciones son pequeñas, cuentan con cafetera e insumos para preparar café, secador de cabello, plancha y tabla de planchar, nos alojamos en la habitación 103 con vista a la opera, el desayuno es muy bueno consta de huevo con tocino, fruta fresca, yogurth, café, té, pan recién horneado, insumos para preparar sandwiches, frutos secos y cereales, ademas se cuenta con opción a preparar waffles, el único inconveniente que durante 6 días solo nos colocaron 1 botella de 500 ml de agua en la habitación y que en el comedor muchas cosas se encuentran colocadas bastante altas y resulta algo incomodo para personas de estatura baja, como sugerencia sería bueno que cuenten con personal que hable español ya que cada vez más las personas que hablamos este idioma visitamos Europa y sería un alago que nuestro idioma se vuelva internacional.
