The sargassum infestation made this a complete waste of money. Most people plan trips 6 months in advance, like I did. This was a complete waste of money. There were at most 5 people at the property, no one gave us the word or a gigantic discount for this trip. Many lessons learned. The biggest is that I will never use ******* again. Back to Costco Travel. They know how to treat their customers.

This resort was a dream come true and would have been a perfect 10/10 if not for one issue at checkout. The location is a true tropical paradise. The remote setting makes it feel like you have the island to yourself, and even the 30-minute boat ride across the Caribbean adds to the sense of escape. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our stay. The food was outstanding. This is not a buffet-style resort, but there were plenty of menu options, everything was made fresh, and the dishes highlighted local and seasonal ingredients. The property is spacious, so the pool, bar, and relaxation areas never felt crowded. We also enjoyed the variety of activities, including ceviche-making and mixology classes. Despite the remote location, we felt safe exploring nearby beaches and trails. There was some seaweed, but that’s simply part of visiting this region at certain times of year, and the resort did its best to manage it. Our only disappointment involved an excursion booked through the resort. We repeatedly confirmed that the quoted price included all taxes and marine park fees, but at checkout we were told those charges were extra, increasing the cost by about 25%. The issue wasn’t the additional expense—it was the lack of transparency. Overall, the resort is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, and the experience is unforgettable. We would gladly return and still recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful experience at Reef Haven. The swim-up bar was delightful. The pools were amazing, lots of space to relax. The staff were wonderful, polite and accommodating.

It was a perfect place to go! Mg wife and I loved it and were extremely blessed!

Very hard to report this, but the property was uninhabitable when we were there.. High-level - there was area-wide sargassum inundation. This is not unusual. Low-level - the management's choice of how to deal with the situation in their particular bay (or not deal with it), was/is pitiful. Facts: • We had a 4 night stay booked - had to leave early. • The resort was vacant. There were maybe 5-10 other people total, which I assume was due to the situation (smell). • We stayed the night we arrived because we had activities booked the next day. We did those activities all day, came back to resort to stay one more night, and left next day. • The staff was amazing!! They went out of their way to attempt to help us find peace in that insane situation. I'm certain they would like their management to attack the problem more proactively, and also they have no control over it. • We transited the coastline 4 times, and witnessed other resorts and beaches that were clear, or had MORE active clearing work underway. Reef Haven's clearing activity was non-existent. One guy in the water with a rake and a mask ....not good enough. • I'm certain that with approval, I could fix their issue in 3 days. I'd bring 3 boats of guys from San Pedro 3 days in a row, put them up in the resort overnight, and we'd clear the beach. • The rotting sargassum is toxic once it starts producing hurdrogen sulfide. We had to shelter in our room / apartment, with towels at the door threshold.

Everything was absolutely perfect! The staff was absolutely unmatched in their hospitality and attention to detail. We enjoyed amazing facilities, food, and views. We’re already planning our trip back!

My wife is in a wheelchair and we could not have navigated the beach sand or loading on/off the boats without their assistance. We lived in Hawaii for 10 years only in retirement have we actually took time to slow down and relax. Best vacation ever. Crystal clear waters. Staff that becomes family. Good food, drinks, and song. The bartender Eddie saved the day. He’s the pool bartender. The food nor the beach did it for us. We checked out 2 days earlier. Although it was nonrefundable we chose to leave and enjoy the city. The sea grass swarmed the beach. It was so smelly I couldn’t smell my perfume daily. For the price we paid the food wasn’t good at all. The best thing on the menu was the cheese burger. Didn’t receive a welcome drink or hot towel. Very disappointing
