I am giving this property 3 stars maybe 2.5 is more adequate , solely because of the breathtaking casitas, the stunning natural surroundings, and the exceptional staff. Every employee we encountered was genuinely kind, professional, and did everything possible to make us happy. Unfortunately, they can only do so much when the underlying issues are beyond their control. This was my second stay at an Aman property. My first experience in Vietnam made me fall in love with the Aman brand. It was so extraordinary that I immediately booked another Aman vacation. I don’t just enjoy luxury hotels—I travel to experience authentic culture in beautiful, safe, world-class destinations. Sadly, this resort was an enormous disappointment. The food was not just mediocre—it was consistently very poor in quality, freshness, and taste. What made it even more frustrating was the pricing. The restaurants charge as much as, or even more than, many of New York City’s finest restaurants, including Michelin-starred establishments. When you pay those prices at an ultra-luxury resort, you expect exceptional cuisine. Instead, the meals often tasted like they were prepared with low-quality ingredients and very little care. Adding to the frustration, the resort is isolated, leaving guests with virtually no alternative dining options. We quickly learned to eat as much as possible at breakfast because lunch at the Beach House and especially dinner were consistently disappointing. Unlike Aman Vietnam, where every afternoon tea introduced guests to local culture through beautifully presented traditional snacks and regional specialties, afternoon tea here consisted of a few unappetizing mini muffins served with tea in a tropical climate. After experiencing it once, we skipped it for the remainder of our stay. During our first two days, we even noticed that some ingredients did not seem fresh, but out of respect for the hardworking local staff, we chose not to complain. However, by dinner it became impossible to ignore. Several dishes were simply inedible. Removing an item from the bill and offering complimentary ice cream does not solve a much larger problem. After spending over $20,000 on accommodations, nearly $1,000 for a one-hour rum tasting, plus the significant cost of traveling to this remote destination, we expected much more. We even requested tropical fruit instead of apples during our tropical vacation, yet that simple request was overlooked.( who puts Appel and old and almost dried orange to represent tropical fruit when u pay 6l per night I persnoy had to go talk to them to provide one mango and dragon fruits and cut pine Appel even in USA these fruit are the cheapest mist in wanted fruits !!! On our final evening, we gave up on the resort’s signature menu and ordered simple comfort food to our room—a burger, vegetarian sandwich( that was so soft and mushy with no element of crunch , or flavor but I could eat it at least the chose the safest pizza choose which

Amanera completely blew me away. This was my second Aman (the first was Amanyara), and while both are stunning, the warmth, care, and attention to detail at Amanera was on another level. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty everything felt peaceful, easy, and luxurious in the most understated way. Lionel (the GM) made us feel so welcome, and the staff were beyond exceptional. Wellington and Angel were absolute stars some of the best service I’ve ever had anywhere. Gustavo made check-out smooth and stress-free, and even our airport driver was kind and professional. We had a few private dinners the casita BBQ, a beach dinner, and one in the library in total chef’s kiss moments that made the trip feel extra special. The only small downside is the beach it’s beautiful, but the waves are strong, so it’s better for confident swimmers. I was told there’s a calm beach five minutes away, but I was so relaxed at the resort I didn’t want to leave. Hands down, the most memorable and relaxing stay I’ve ever had in the Caribbean. Also the food was delisshhh (breakfast and lunch being my faves) which is shocking compared to some other Caribbean resorts I’ve been to IYKYK I’ll be back Aman has a guest for life

We came here for our anniversary and it is one of the best decisions we’ve made. We’ve stayed at luxury hotels before but this is its own level- everything is so well thought out, the service was very friendly, the cleanliness spectacular, the food out of this world. We had a complimentary casita upgrade, beach dinner, little gifts and treats every night. We felt like celebrities. It’s worth every penny. I’d like to return here with our kids next time. I’ve no negatives except one that is not in the hotel staff’s control- the beach here is beautiful but kind of violent- full disclosure I can’t swim but even my husband who does- the sound and view of it is spectacular though.

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and luxury, Amanera in October is it. We were so excited to visit this Caribbean gem in the Dominican Republic. We really lucked out with weather since we went the first week of October, which is well into hurricane season in DR. We had rain in the evening for 1 night out of 3! Amanera is perched on a cliffside overlooking Playa Grande, with stunning ocean views and lush tropical surroundings. It is about 1.5 hours away from POP airport. I highly recommend you DO NOT drive. The roads are not developed for a majority of the initial ride. October was an amazing time to visit because the weather was warm but not too hot, and the crowds were minimal. We stayed in a Casita with a private pool; the design was sleek and modern, yet blended perfectly with the natural surroundings. Waking up to the sound of the waves and stepping out onto our terrace with that view? Unreal. The bed was insanely comfortable, the bathroom was huge, and the private pool was perfect for cooling off in the afternoons. I highly recommend taking bug spray, as you are literally in the jungle. October was a great time for both adventure and relaxation. We spent time lounging on the gorgeous Playa Grande beach, swam in the infinity pool, and took a guided hike through the jungle. Amanera’s staff were amazing. They made everything so effortless, from arranging private experiences to surprising us with little treats in our casita. It felt like they truly cared about making our trip special without ever being intrusive. The whole resort had a peaceful, intimate vibe, making it the perfect romantic escape. Amanera in October is pure paradise. Whether you want to relax, explore, or just enjoy the most beautiful beach views, this place has it all. The combination of stunning nature, incredible food, and world-class service made it one of our favorite trips ever.

If I could give aman 0 starts I would. A few months ago I booked a beautiful and expensive casita. Did all the things in my life (as well as my fiends) to get everything covered for work and childcare. I’m an attorney. I had 3 other attorneys making courts appearances for me PLUS I rescheduled and entire mediation for this trip. Well. A few days ago I get an email saying they over booked us and we have three options; Change dates (impossible) Go to sister property in Turks and Caicos ( we’ve already been and it looks like that aman isn’t even close to the ocean or… Refund plus two night free. Now who’s gonna use two travel days to go stay at aman for 2 day?! And no word back on non refundable plane tickets. I am appalled such a high end place wouldn’t have made such a monumental mistake. Now we can’t find any comparable Places with comparable fight times during our original dates. I’m disgusted. And yes we were the first to book I’m saying this because those of us who desperately need a relaxing vacation have to work out ALOT odd and ends to make this happen. Beware. This could happen to you. Easily. Hope this creates second thoughts in as many people as possible because this really was messed up.

We always wanted to stay at an Aman resort to see what all the buzz was about - well now we know...The experience -- and that is the word....-- was amazing from beginning to end. Everything is wonderful... we cannot think of a single negative to say only glowing positives. First of all the staff -- everyone is so professional and so focused on "getting it right" for us. Every thing is geared to ensure maximal comfort for the guests. I have to say, it took a bit of time for us to get used to the concept of being shuttled around and pampered.... but we did get used to it and boy did we love it. EVERY part of the experience was amazing... where do I begin. The SPA - what a treat.... the GOLF ... every comfort you can want. Meals - everything we ate was wonderful and all the drinks as well. Yes... this is not an inexpensive excursion but boy is it worth it.... I am sold on the Aman brand...

We just love the entire experience ! There is no signage for the property and as such you have a feeling of a remote, lush property. The chic , open air architecture, the fabulous suites.. the drama of wild windswept ocean all contribute to an amazing sense of place… The staff is congenial and top notch. Lionel the GM is omnipresent. Service outstanding. I love the little gifts they leave in your room when you return from dinner! We love to swim so we would walk to the public beach where the water is less challenging. It’s a lovely daily hike. I love to shop so I wish the gift shop was more varied. There are some Dominican products but mostly the Aman line of clothes and products which are not interesting. Had great massages at the spa!
