Consigliatissimo.
My family and I stayed here for New Year’s Holiday. Aside from its location, The Chiang Rai Hotel is a joke. Our room was dusty, there was chewed gum on the floor, and it had multiple spider webs that appeared to have accumulated over time. They are very hard to miss because they were thick spider webs. Clearly the staff doesn’t take pride in their hotel’s appearance. The internet is slow and dropped continuously, which made it difficult to search for and read about nearby things. There are no elevators. Walking up the stairs to the 3rd floor with our heavy backpacks was a bit annoying. To look at it from an optimistic point of view, walking up the steps gives a nice burn in the thighs for a workout. The bathroom consists of a toilet, sink, and shower head 🚿 with no dividers. Once the shower was turned on, practically all of the bathroom floor, sink, and toilet gets wet. The beds are super hard and caused back pain, hip, and knee pain. Mattress pad provided on a concrete slab anyone? We are a family of 4. My husband, our two children, and I shared a room of three beds. Sharing with my youngest child is not a big issue. The issue is the staff knew there were four of us in the room and continuously only provided us with three towels to dry off with. On our last day at the hotel I asked if the 4 of us could have water to drink. It was well before our checkout time. The housekeeper and receptionist informed me that we have to pay for more drinking water if we needed it 😧. It’s not like we were requesting tons of water while at the hotel. Each day (except morning of checkout), they provided one bottle for each of us and we would purchase more drinking water while we were out on the town. The receptionist’s patted herself on the back for giving us four bottles of water (one per guest) because technically there are only three beds in the room so they were only required to give us 3 bottles of water 🤔. If you check their website their room for a family of 4 only has three beds, so that 4 the person would typically be out of luck 😧. I was also informed that I would have to pay for more toilet paper (if we run out). This hotel clearly needs to learn a few lessons on hospitality, integrity, cleanliness, and overall customer service. They might as well be like the same criminals that tries to cheat foreigners out of money when selling a product. Needless to say, I do not recommend spending your money here. They won’t see another dime of our money either.

convenient location to the night bazaar and street market however the room couldve used some cleaning on the walls. Our room had a big stain on the wall that wouldn’t come off as well as stains on the counter shelf. Enjoyed the daily water bottle, coffee and snacks refills left on the door.
