Wifi pesima , sin ascensor (3 pisos por escaleras con valijas!), puerta de habitacion sin proteccion, cortinas metalicas en mal estado, toallas terriblemente malas , deshilachadas! Desayuno !!! A media cuadra , en otro hotel, por favor ..no ofrezcan este servicio , les juega en contra ..preferimos desayunar en otro sitio...MALISIMO! No volveria!!

Fair price, clean, extra friendly staff, ok continental breakfast in a very beautiful place (l'embasciata d'italia). We were afraid of the noise both from 5th ave and from the restaurant in the morning. I guess we were very tired everyday and had a wonderful night sleep. There was noise indeed from 5th ave but nothing extraordinary. Didn't even use earplugs (though I still recommend bringing good quality ones).

We just got back from an extended family reunion at the Grand Velas, Riviera Maya and can't say enough positive things about it...but will try: - The rooms were fantastic. Super comfortable and big enough to fit families of 5 (assuming one is an infant) - One of our party had mobility issues, which was not an issue at the hotel - The food is unbelievably good for an all inclusive hotel - The service is amazing, all around. The people at the restaurants and pool are working non-stop to serve you. From 05/27/23 until 06/01/23 this was the 3rd time I've ever been to this hotel, but the 1st time since 2009. My experience was a negative one, sadly. There was a blonde receptionist I first met who was fine. It was the brunette receptionist that was not accommodating, not friendly. This hotel has 2 buildings, one on 5th Avenue and the other 10th Ave. They put me in the 10th Avenue building where there was no one on site. 6 days, I did not see anyone, day nor night. Walking through the courtyard at night and not one room had lights on. No one at the jacuzzi, nothing. I asked to be moved from this building to the main building where there were other guest visible and the brunette receptionist said no and walked away. There was another employee that I asked and he said no. I stated that I would look for another hotel and that other employee said ”ok”. I only had the breakfast plan and ate 2x in the cafe and the food was ”ok”. The first day I was still a little hungry and took a little box of cereal with me. I got stopped at the door and was told that I could not do this. The only positives: (1) I had a clean room and (2)the tours planner Bernardo was great. He was the only person to treat me nice and talk to me like a friend vs. a number. I had enjoyed this place in the past but will probably never come back.

The apartments/hotel is split into two areas either side of a very quiet road. We booked a large double with kitchen, which was across the road from the pool which was not a problem. The room was very clean and well kept and the hotel was about 20mins walk (1.2kms) from the beach and only 200metres from the main highway if you wanted to hail a taxi. Lots of local shops and restaurants.

Do not and I repeat DO NOT stay here. My wife and I stayed here for a few months earlier this year and our experience was less than pleasurable. In fact, we had an awful time. This place was constantly dirty and unkept. The electricity went off and stayed off for two days, while it was very hot and the room had no windows whatsoever. One morning we woke up and the water wasn’t working and it didn’t come back on for the entire day. The wifi is extremely weak and unreliable. You will be very frustrated if you are trying to work remotely. After all of these setbacks, the thing that made it the most unbearable was the staff, that they had at the front desk. Very rude, condescending, incompetent and incapable of doing or helping with anything. The worst person was a woman named ERICKA, my wife and her got into an argument, when my wife went to ask her a question. She screamed at her and her behavior was completely unacceptable. Anything, you asked her to do, her response was “sorry that’s not my job, I can’t help you”. Completely ridiculous and useless. Overall, our trip was a complete disaster and I would NEVER stay here again. Save yourself the headache and money and go somewhere else. There are far better places in Playa to stay.👍🏻

It was OK, but not great. The shower half worked (just a dribble from the main head but the hand-held bit did work), the wifi pretty much only worked on the balcony and was still really slow at times, the ATM in the lobby didn't work when I wanted it (but did seem to be working a couple of days later). Staff could have been a bit more helpful to be honest - I had to go down and ask twice for towels after we'd checked in. It seems there's no restaurant on-site any more, you have to go across the street to a cafe for breakfast but that was fine (once we'd asked, might be better to tell guests that at check-in) and was variations on eggs, toast and coffee. As others have said, there's a bar across the (other) street that does play music but we didn't find it that disturbing in our room, only just audible over the aircon fan. Our travel agents booked us here as they couldn't find a room in a resort. I was very happy with the location: short walk to town but far enough from most of the noise. I can't understand why it was more expensive than an all-inclusive resort though, maybe location, maybe late booking / availability?
